I am now a teetotaller!

Up until Thursday, in the last fortnight I have been drinking every night except one as politics and recent changes have been debated into the wee hours of the morning.
Thursday night taught me three things:
1) It is not a good sign when you get home after the morning newspaper has been delivered.
2) It is a very very bad idea to drink Chartreuse and Whiskey in the same session.
3) It is a very bad idea to drink Chartreuse ever!
I am now on day three of abstinence (from alcohol, not other things
and despite my friends trying to tempt me with port, I remain a teetotaller. Updates will be provided.

I always have one month a year and one weekend a month of no-drinking. It keeps the demon addiction at bay

I once used to say that “I will never drink again” as I was dicussing the merits of previous meals on the great white telephone.
I have no learnt that if I wish to be truthful it should be; “I will try not to drink this much again, for a while.”

Chartreuse is lovely over ice cream. What you should avoid is Gin &Tonic, as an accompaniment to baked beans on toast. Not only an unpleasant combination of flavours, but makes one feel like a rather sad old bastard.

Agree totally Craig, personally I don’t like baked beans!

I’m 13 years dry by choice, myself. I take my hat off to you, good Sir.
