Well that didn’t last long

November 11th, 2003 at 10:06 pm by David Farrar

Okay being a teetotaller only lasted five days, but I do have a good excuse to have had too many rum and cokes tonight to keep count of.

Today was the day when my friends and colleagues found out which ones of them will keep their jobs in the National Leader’s Office, and sadly many of them are going, as reported in the online Herald.

It has been a truly gut wrenching day. Despite now being onto my 4th Leader, 5th Deputy Leader and 6th Chief of Staff, it gets harder every time. I’ve rarely felt so miserable.

Life sometimes is just really shitty. Today was one of those times.

    Why so sad?
    Rum..good
    Job…good
Variety….however frustrating, is still as they say, the spice of life.

Just don’t start drinking gin, that stuff will really depress you!

    Gin is all good.
I imagine that DPF is feeling a bit down as a number of close friends and colleagues got the chop yesterday. It was tough enough from a distance let alone in the middle of it.

“…too many rum and cokes tonight to keep count of.”

Just before people start thinking DPF is a hard man/hard drinker it should be noted that (like the ancients) his counting is 1, 2, many!

    Cheers
