    FWIW, I happen to disagree. MFAT were doing what they are required to do, and have always done. It is GOFF and CLARK who have abused the information, not MFAT.

    Yeah I think you guys are missing the point. Unless the MFAT guy is actually lying, then basically its a tactical defeat to the nats.

    Oh I absolutely agree the fault is all with Goff and Clark.

    The point is their actions have destroyed though the relationship between Opposition MPs and MFAT, and hence comments like that will be more common (it was in jest of course).

    An MP would be mad to now allow MFAT to attend a meeting, where anything said can now be used by Clark for political purposes.
