Just as I said that US soldiers who abused Iraqi prisoners should be given long prison sentences, I also think that the (now former) Editor of the Daily Mirror, along with their source, should be prosecuted or sued, because their propagation of the faked photos about abuse from British troops has probably led to significant loss of life.

    Yes, I agree.
    Why aren’t we seeing such comments in the mainstream media? The perfidy of the Mirror’s editor apparently knows no bounds. The modern mainstream media has much to answer for in the disservice it does to the public when it seeks to sensationalise and distort facts in order to concoct a story. Yesterday’s Christchurch Press ran a front page headline stating “Rumsfeld “gave US interrogators green light”. Apppears on the strength of the headline to have come straight from the US government or Pentagon sources right? Wrong. The story quotes from a New Yorker magazine article. Therefore the headline should have said “New Yorker Magazine claims Rumsfeld gave interrogators green light.”
    Would treason charges be too old fashioned?
