Israel

KiwiJewPundit has a good post (dated 2 June) on various inventions and achievements by Israelis. Regardless of your view on the territorial disputes, most would agree this is remarkable for such a small population.

Completely unremarkable I would humbly suggest, if properly measured (relative to the ‘inventions’ etc the world has seen). Building a big airforce etc hardly seem ‘achievements’, nor do gaining trees by ‘gaining’ land…

I disagree considering this is a country only 50 years old. Other countries have been about for centuries.

Good on Israel, great achievements. But I think there may be a few inaccuracies in the post at http://kiwijewpundit.blogspot.com/

I’ve not read through the entire list of their achievements (all 36 points) but I can immediately see 2 facts that are wrong in the first few paragraphs

    >>2. Most of the Windows NT and XP operating systems were developed by Microsoft-Israel.

This is false. Microsoft does have development labs in Israel, but they are not responsible for “most” of NT and XP. Most of the development is done in Redmond, Washington, USA

    >>7. Both Microsoft and Cisco built their only R&D facilities outside the US in Israel.

This is also inaccurate. R&D labs are in Beijing, China ; Cambridge, UK ; then there are several in the US

If these 2 are false/misrepresented/inaccurate etc what else is also wrong?

    Cheers
    Nathan
