Facelift
July 24th, 2004 at 10:27 pm by David FarrarIt was very amusing watching Facelift last night in the bar at the Rotorua Novotel.
I hadn’t seen it before, and it was very very funny. The highlight though was the skit with the Donna doll showing an MP trying to destroy the Donna doll, yet she kept coming back etc. Next to me was Rodney Hide who was laughing loudly at it until he paused, and then asked “Hey that guy in the skit isn’t meant to be me is it?”.
We all reassured him, indeed it was. He stopped laughing at that point

The “Rodney” face is pretty bad, isn’t it?

What bothers me is how Rodney had time to get back to Rotorua after filming the show that day!

I think it’s quite a fantastic show. I was prepared to cringe, but it has turned out really well so far.
My favourites are Don, John Campbell, Kim Hill and Kate Hawkesby. Worst have to be Tana and Murray Deaker didn’t quite work for me…..

Yes it is a great show. I did not even know it existed as Friday Night doesn’t normally have me watching TV.
It is just cutting enough, without being nasty. I must try and find back copies.

That in itself would have been a wonderful skit. I wish I’d seen the look on his face. (actually,I think that they are quite mean with their depiction of Rod), but Don and Hels are spot on!
Vote:I haven’t seen a comrade Margret character yet. Looking forward to it.
