Arrogance Reigns

In a classic sign of arrogance and disdain, Labour has refused to answer questions from National MP Katherine Rich on benefit fraud, despite a constitutional obligation to do so.

They have claimed that it would be “too time consuming and costly”. Now this provision is designed for questions such as “Please list in street order the 150,000 state homes, their GV and their current rent” which would takes ages to answer. What would be appropriate is to ask “Please list the top 50 properties where the rental income as a proportion of GV is lowest”.

Now one of the questions Labour refuses to answer is “how many convictions have there been for a beneficiary claiming more than one main or parent benefit concurrently?”

It is outraegous that the Government is either unable or unwilling to answer such a simple question.
