Tamihere vs Richwhite
You know you are in trouble when the best defence your colleagues can come out with is basically “John may be a criminal, but he isn’t as big a criminal as these ones!”.
Mahara Okeroa says that David Richwhite is getting off lightly compared to Tamihere. Well Richwhite has been charged and faces fines running to the tens of millions of dollars. Is Okeroa saying Tamihere should be charged also?
Okeroa also pushes the ridiculous claim that the $320,000 golden handshake was koha, saying that his ancestors once koh’aed a lake and mountains. But did they pay tax on the mountain?
If this is the best defence Labour can think up, it is rather sad.

Hey, come on Guys!! This is an important famous man you are talking about. Why, in 100 years’ time someone will sell at auction a photo album with all the news clips and pictures of JT. Might even get 1200 bucks eh? That’s if the mokos don’t protest the auction.

Ah yes, the wit and wisdom of Darth George – for whom, apparently, the rule of law doesn’t matter because JT is a good bloke and everyone is a canting hypocrite who cheats on the taxes, collects golden handshakes and speeding tickets like confetti… I think APN is introducing compulsory retirement for columnists and he’s trying for Helen Bain’s old job.
Then again, it is fun watching BDWMs (braindead white male) Herald columnists finding an alleged criminal darkie in South/West Auckland they can get behind…
