The constitutional stock-take

Peter Dunne has been appointed/elected to chair the constitutional stock-take inquiry.

I wonder if Peter will report the findings to the Conference, as that is where the PM of course announced it.

It is a shame Clark politicsed this exercise by initially trying to use it as a weapon against Orewa I, and announcing it in a party conference instead of to . This has led to a third of Parliament boycotting the inquiry.

Because the sort of issues the inquiry will look at are ones that I think are well due for a . And Peter Dunne would in fact be my choice to chair such a review. But the environment in which it was hatched means it will be pretty pointless. And that is a shame.
