Full Ministerial List

The Beehive site has the full ministerial list (pdf) and a PR with the changes.

Once again Clark has broken her own record for the largest ever Executive. I am surprised again that she has kept non performers such as Samuels and Tizard on at the expense of Barnett and Chadwick.

Other changes, not commented on in previous posts are:

* Ruth Dyson becomes Minister of Labour

Not good for employers.

* David Cunliffe becomes Minister of Immigration, continues as Minister of Communications and of Information Technology, and will be an Associate Minister for Economic Development.

Pleased Cunliffe retains Comms and IT. The Ass Econ Dev will sensibly tie into it also.

* David Parker will be Minister of Energy, Minister of Transport, Attorney , and Minister Responsible for Climate Change Issues.

That's an impressive range for a new Minister.

* Nanaia Mahuta will be Minister of Customs, Minister of Youth , and Associate Minister for the Environment and Local Government.

* Clayton Cosgrove will be Minister for Building Issues and Statistics, and Associate Minister of Finance, Immigration, and Justice.

Main portfolios are not much but some useful associates.

* Judith Tizard continues her existing responsibilities as Minister of Consumer Affairs and as an associate across a range of portfolios, as well as becoming Minister Responsible for Archives and for the National Library.

, she may have to turn up in the mornings now.

Overall though some pretty good moves by Clark. I suspect the Maharey appointment may come to be the one she most regrets. However it may be deliberately a challenge – if he manages to restore confidence in the qualifications system, then he gets to replace Helen as when she retires.

Oh yes in other news, Jill Pettis has also announced she is standing down as Chief Whip. Either Darren Hughes will get promoted from Junior Whip or maybe go to one of those missed out like Barnett?
