Marriage Bill does not have the numbers

Tony Milne predicts (and knowing where he works suspect he has a good basis for his ) that there will be at least 71 votes against the United Future Marriage Bill.

I presume is the one NZ First vote against. Will be interesting to see how the National vote on .

Personally I don't see this bill as big an issue as the CIvil Unions Bill. This bill will not really change anything (which is why I would vote against it) and is just United Future trying to win some brownie points claiming “they saved marriage”.

Rather ironic that instead they will now be responsible for Parliament rejecting their definition of marriage – an act which ironically could lead a future Supreme to change its interpretation of the Marriage Act.
