Internet Gambling

Very amused to read over at Scott Adams that the main reason the US Congress didn’t ban Internet Gambling is because Jack Abramoff (who represented eLottery) convinced christian groups to oppose a bill which would have outlawed most online gaming, on the basis it didn’t go far enough.

Adams notes that Abramoff has Dogbertian values, which is very true.

Some amusing comments on what other things one could get Christian groups to support, seeing they kept Internet gambling legal. Suggestions include:

* A sticker placed on Bibles, warning that this account of the origin of life is “only a theory” and is full of holes

* A massive grassroots fundraising effort for Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign

* Mandatory homosexuality
