Offline Content

Gonzo notes that Russell Brown’s Listener column is no longer available online and wonders if this is inspired by the Herald’s premium content strategy?

Perhaps Russell – unlike most of the Herald’s columnists – isn’t giving away his electronic repro rights anymore?

Hmmm. I actually hadn’t noticed this.

It doesn’t make a lot (well, *any*) sense given that I recently agreed that the column would be more new-media oriented and that I’d give them an HTML-formatted version for use online.

    It’s just a mistake, hopefully …

RB, while you’re having a word to the Listener, can you please get them to post a FAQ explaining how and when offline content is archived online? Perhaps they could have a Recently Declassified index highlighting (promoting) stories newly onlined.

The current policy seems to take up to two months for offline to online, but the rhyme and reason is all kaka-coocoo.

    Cheers,
