Good old Dads

February 26th, 2006 at 1:43 pm by David Farrar

The bond between Dads and Daughters is often ferociously protective, no matter their age.

We see this in the HoS with Ali Mau’s father having written a letter pointing out his daughter’s length list of journalistic credentials, compared to the former Suzy Aiken who will I suspect always be remembered most for making out with Chris Warner in the inaugural episode of Shortland Street.

God bless protective fathers!

Wheres the outrage at getting into a messy employment dispute ? It must be selective Sunday!
It must all be Eddie Mc Quires fault for knocking Ally Mau’s chance at becoming an overnight millionaaire

Yes – I first thought of the first Shortland St episode too. Not that I have anything against Aitken – I have some of her aerobics videos – but Mau has beauty and brains. And class.

Good on her Dad – it is very rare for men to go into bat for women these days. I have one male friend who threatens pistols at dawn for me – and means it- and I think he is just great. One of the old-fashioned heroes.

*yawn* A real gentleman does not discuss his daughter’s affairs (or her pending Employment Court case) with strangers. I will give Leigh Mau credit for raising a real lady, though.

Alison Mau has constantly reiterated that her professional and legal issue is with Prime, not Suzy Clarkson, and she’s not buying into a media-constructed cat fight. Clarkson has said the same. Mr. Mau needs to get on message and stay there, because he’s not doing his daughter any favours as far as I’m concerned.

Suzy has an Emmy, something even old Paul Holmes would love to get his hands on. And as Suzy put it, lots of presenters ( she gets the job description right) have sporting backgrounds.

Considering the amount of Womans Day style news that seems to be coming out of the MSM these days I think Suzy is ideal for the position. The only person more ideal would be David Harnell. I guess he was too expensive.
