ACTing up
March 30th, 2006 at 6:30 am by David FarrarCathy Odgers has guest blogged an article on Clint Heine’s blog. Cathy praises both Roger Douglas and Rodney Hide, and laments their “family feud”. A warm nice tribute to both men.
Talking of feuds though, Robin Booth vigourously attacks the new ACT President. It is fair to say that his allegations are disputed, and you can see some of this in the comments.

Cathy’s writings on the two men were ctually a great credit to her skills as a writer. She did quite a masterful job of expressing the simultaneous affections she has for both men, despite their different tangents within centre-right politics.
As for Robin Booth’s comments, I can understand his hurt and anger, but he did himself no favours by quoting people who have since denied ever making such comments as Booth asserted. If he wants to bag ACT, so be it, but perhaps he ought to stick to his own direct experiences rather than quoting others.

ACT is a gone-burger. A footnote in future Pol Studies essays.

What a laugh, and this crowd wanted to be part of the govt.
No wonder Rodney Hide is always on the attack, his own party structure is a battle ground of personalities who want to be top dog, and tread over anyone to get there. It is easy to see why Hide & Prebble carry on the way they do.
If this is the way they treat their own, where would the average NZ family stand in this dog eat dog enviroment, if ACT should ever be part of the govt?
I have to agree with Mickey the ACT Party is on the path of self destruction.

Wait till Peters or Dunne veto a cabinet post for Hide in any future National government. Just as well Rodney loves being the member for Remuera

It’s just as well Dr Brash gave Mr Hide the Opposition seat on the intelligence select committee, isn’t it? I’m sure he can get the spies onto the matter and uncover the truth.
