Field wants his job back also!

March 29th, 2006 at 5:26 am by David Farrar

Oh dear – with Helen Clark saying Parker may get his Ministerial jobs back immediately if not charged (despite admitting he broke the law as an MP), this has led Taito Philip Field to say he also expects to be back in the Ministry if ‘cleared’.

Of course the inquiry into Field was set up with such limited powers, such as an inability to compel witnesses to co-operate, that it may be stale-mated. Also the inquiry is not able to determine if a crime has been committed – the Police or SFO make decisions on prosecutions.

Well what is the problem, if both men are clear?

Reminds me of an advanced movie screening I saw “V” for Vendetta. The UK ruled by a Brash/Hide type ultra rightwing Norsfire govt, where any law that is broken is punishable by death by firing squard. And the country is run by Corporate business & Totalitarian govt both proping each other up. The saviour of course is “V” a Rt Hon Winston Peters type that gets the people to revolt from the chains of corporate facism. great movie. wityh the catch phrase …Please remember the 5th Nov

Why don’t you try smacking your head on the keyboard? The results would actually make more sense. I also have to wonder if we’ve actually seen the same movie, but never mind – I don’t see why your critical insights should be any less cretinous than your political ones.

Cadmus – the major problem for me with Parker being reinstated, is that he actually admitted his guilt. He may be cleared, but by his own admission he is guilty.

Of course Helen might have some difficulty standing up in the House and saying that Field was a hardworking and competent minister…

Sandra, so if an MP admit’s driving 30km over the speed limit were you could kill someone, should their career be over also? “If” David Parker is cleared, why should his career be finished, he didn’t lie about his misdemeanor to Parliament. It’s a mistake he owned up to. What’s the saying..you learn by your mistakes.

My pick is that Mr Field will be found to have indeed transgressed on a number of “minor” points and a prima facie case is established. However, as per usual, it is “not in the public interest” to prosecute, so Philip gets away with it, and he is immediately plonked back into cabinet. As always New Zealand is the winner !

    Cadmus –

Do you get fined $200,000 or two years in prison for driving 30 km over the speed limit?

Do we have the results of the investigation into Mr Fields dealings? Or are we doing the old Labour 2 step again, preempting the mans return with the “possible” findings of corruption allegations, “MAYBE”.

Looks like shit, smells like shit chances are it is shit! and has come directly from the pages of Helen Clark’s personal diary. Don’t it make you just proud to be a Kiwi.

Spam, maybe not the fine, but if you killed someone on the road doing 30km over the limit I don’t doubt you could be serving the 2 yrs behind bars?

You seem to forget, it is up to the companies office to look at this matter and to see what extent Mr Parker was at fault. Again he admitted he did wrong just like my example. If they believe he should be taken to court for the offence ok, if not give him his job back.
Unless of course you have some privi info on the case you would like to share with us?

    Cadmus – classic strawman.

If Winston Peters killed someone when he was speeding at 30km/hour over the limit, do you think that he should resign from parliament?

Ed – if the end result was similar to all the others this Govt have paid out, I think we might look at a break away republic in the south, all those that can live abidingly, no gang patches, life means a one way ticket to the north etc, etc, etc. I think the truth in this one is going to be a little to hard to sweep under the mat, hence the 7 month wait for the lack of information to date, being Frau getting close to the jump date and not going to be close enough for the mud to stick.
This Country is there to serve her not vice versa.

    Picture the scene

Helen is on the steps of the Beehive, holding a knife that she has plunged deep into the heart of Don Brash, whose life just ebbed away.

Would the police not press charges, saying it was not in the public interest and there was only a “prima facie” case against her.

And would Helen say “Rodney made me do it!!”

As usual Cadmus is parroting the beliefs of the his idol the Left dishonourable Winston Peters. It seems that as with his other principles Peters has done an flipflop on his Immigration beliefs and now is at one with Taito Field and the Liabour Party.
