Maori TV ANZAC Day coverage

A wonderful idea by Maori TV to provide non stop coverage day of ANZAC Day – a day fast becoming our de facto national day.
I’m still not convinced that Maori TV is attracting enough viewers to be viable (their 400,000 a month may be only 1,000 people for any one programme) but they seem to be producing some good quality programmes and avoiding the excesses of their predecessors.

DPF, I think what you said about sums it up.

The quality of the coverage of anzac day on Maori tv was extraordinary. Carefully researched, much of it was beautifully shot, with engaging interviews. It contrasted with tired tokenism that dominated on the other channels. And then there was the plain dumb. God knows why NZ on Air threw money at “A Former Shortland Street Stars Guide to World War 1″ But then the ultimate idiocy must have been TV1s live news report from Gollipoli, where apparently NZ troops fought in 1925!
