Blog working again

April 28th, 2006 at 10:13 am by David Farrar

No it wasn’t just you – no new posts or comments were possible for the last 18 hours or so. I was in meetings and only discovered it late last night.

Looks to all be working again. I blame flooding in Dunedin :-)

I blame Iam Wishart – I warned him about his multiple posts in the Surprise surprise thread and hey presto, minutes later the whole thing collapsed.

    Cause and effect!

I thought Labour said it was down when it wasn’t so the Crown Solicitor simply amended it’s status to match their request.

DPF deserves a medal for saving my life. If you had been mere minutes later in making another post, I would have killed myself.

How long would it need for DPF to be off theair before cadmus kills himself?

    Maybe he alreay has.

Maybe he only exists to troll here and has no other life outside cyber space.

This is off topic, but there really didn’t seem to be one anyway.

I have had an aggressive authoritarian socialist bastard appointed to a Board I report to. The guy is an asshole of the first order. I have goaded him already with explosive results and am keen to get more of the same. Logical debate doesn’t work, but the said asshole has a penchant for quoting “our prime-minister” (I remind him that she is his PM not mine – because I didn’t vote to install her – which upsets said asshole). Does any one have any tips for really annoying such a person further? Thanks in advance.

    PDQ

    1) Insist on documentation and evidence for every blanket assertion made by said socialist

    2) Insist that said socialist guard his back, because his “PM” has a habit of going through appointees.

    Try…

    Attlia the Hen
    Hammas Helen
The fraudster formerly known as Hullen
    Dear Leader
Commrade Helen (although this may not be noticed)
    Hellzilla

Then there’s the fun you can have peointing out that she doesn’t command our armed forces and isn’t in the chain of command. Hence the Minister of Defence gets military protocols like being piped aboard warships and she doesn’t. That really punches a few buttons.

This should see you though you till Monday afternoon.

PDQ, I find baiting socialists to be extremely energetic, phrases like “not one person in Labours cabinet has ever employed anyone from their pocket”

“Any government that includes a Finance Minister who lists his sole assets in life as a $400,000 house in Napier is beyond redemption”

Of course any time he mentions “Dear Leader” always add “Oh…She Who Must Be Obeyed”

Oh yeah and always refer to Wellington as “Helengrad capital of Clarkistan”

Refer to the “Prima Facie PM” as well. That gets them going.

The phrase “I don’t think thats in the public interest” for anything you disagree with worls well too.

It’s akin to shooting fish in a barrel getting them to rupture their nappies but thats no reason to not do it.

    Call me a kill joy but my advice would be;

Never fully engage. You will not win. Their leader already has life time loyalty. Facts will not work, neither will logic or reason. Circumstance is useless as is association and even legal connection now seems irrelevant.

Their loyalty is unshakable and it is therefore admirable for that reason alone. But do bate them, they rise to the bait so well ;-)

    Here are some first attempts.

quote churchill back at him when he quotes our prime minister. socialists hate his memory
agree it is a real shame that the soviet union has disappeared but at least new zealand is trying its best to do the same as their economy
praise GW Bush as being a world leader for our time.
ask him to agree with the premise that all people should be treated the same and then ask him if he thinks our cabinet ministers are like the pigs in animal farm.
Get him to praise chavez in Venezuela and then ask him if chavez is being a hypocrite continuing to supply americawith 1/7 its oil. (about twice what the puppet saudi arabia supplies)
ask him if being socialist means he should give his board fees back to the workers so that everyone is paid equally – from each according to their skills to each according to their needs.
in the same vein ask him how much of his income he donates to unskilled workers every year.
