Hamilton Votes

Hamilton City has rejected STV over FPP by a 40:60 vote.

My personal preference is to have STV for Mayoral elections (where one can sensibly rank candidates) but FPP for DHBs and Councils. It was preposterous for CCH DHB ranking 40 or so candidates in order.

Hamilton also voted to keep flouridating their water supply. I think this is a sensible move. If people want non flouridated water supply they can hook up their own tank and supply – no-one forces you to use the local council supply.

It would be nice if one day technology allowed individual households to choose between flouridated and non-flouridated water.
