Beer Tours
June 28th, 2006 at 9:07 am by David FarrarAn excellent new service for tourists (or locals) are Wild About Wellington’s Boutique Beer Tasting Tour.
One can do either a two hour brunch tour or a three hour evening tour, guided by beer expert Neil Miller. The tours start next to Mac’s Brewey at Te Papa and finish up at the Railway Station (as driving afterwards is not recommended).
Much more fun than going to the zoo!

I can vouch for Mr Miller’s beer expertise, having participated in some of his earlier consumption-side research on this broad topic.

This sounds neat but sadly my dogs and myself have no need to visit Wellington now but if I ever get down there this tour will be a must.

Are they making proper unpasterurised cask ale in New Zealand yet? Any bottle conditioned beers? Or is it still the variations on carbonated lager-type beers?
If NZ can make the world’s best vodka then I reckon if they turn their mind to proper brewing things could get interesting.
