Sideswipe gets political
June 26th, 2006 at 5:01 am by David FarrarSideswipe rarely covers politics, but today’s column covers the blogosphere debate over Tony Milne’s linking of murdered children to Section 59, and quotes Craig Ranapia at length.

just listening to the PM helen klark on radio live – when questioned about the number of maori children getting killed she referrs to it as a society problem and at present we seem to be having a “run” on it being maori children.
the problem is the welfare state dependancy that labour refusess to address – the people who kill children are scum and all we have is a PM who calls it a run – but refuses to address the underlying reasons why 50% of ALL children WHO are killed by maori who represent about 10% of the population – what are they missing here???

“It caused great debate in the blogsphere and rather than repeating that information on my Spare Room blog, I thought I’d take the issue to a wider audience in Sideswipe. Craig Ranapia’s comment was one of the most articulate and impassioned I’d read on the subject. Personally, as someone of a belligerent 3 year-old who has smacked, I do not want to be classified as the same as those who injure or kill children as Tony Milne suggests”.

That maybe race based social and health policies *do* have their place?
