Presley out?
September 26th, 2006 at 10:58 am by David FarrarI’ve just heard that a massive split is happening at Callplus/Slingshot with Malcolm Dick (Annette Presley’s former partner) announcing Presley is departing her executive role at Slingshot, but Presley is reported to be denying that, claiming no knowledge of her own departure.
Sounds very badly handled, no matter who wins.

This really sucks because what NZ really needs right now is strong stable opposition positioned well to take advantage of regulations on Telecom. If Slingshot/Callplus falls apart it could be quite damaging with them having taken a strong lead in convincing the government to step in with Telecom… the orcon VDSL stuff is encouraging though.

Well Telecom could use a Bimbo who seems to have traction with the Minister. Perhaps she could apply for a job there.

Wasn’t Annette wanting to move on to bigger and brighter things and Telecom
, now all she needs to do is convince the T/Com Board that she has a better public persona (read cuddlier and gentler) than Teresa G,
hmm on 2nd thought maybe she should just stay on the island she is currently sunning herself on.

This is a logical move by malcolm dick, he is the biggest brain in NZ, he is CallPlus and always has been, all the innovation has come from him and his son. The public persona does not in any way show the absolute lack of input (other than as a distraction) that AP has had in that business. Don’t believe me? ask anybody who has worked for CallPlus at a senior level. This will have a positive effect on the management team and help them focus on the wimax trial up north.

I’ll take a wild stab in the dark here and suggest the reason why Malcolm Dick might have done this to his ex wife might have something to do with the possibility that Annette Presley had a travelling companion that Mr Dick wasn’t enthusiastic about.

i used to work for annette and malcolm, yeah he is the brains and she was the mouth. i have also heard of her sexploits pre malcolm and so on. she is out there but he is just as bad but not so obvious or obnoxious. i was surprised with the marriage split – thought they would have fought over money not another man. all her statements are crap. she is not a mother doing best for her kids, the community etc. they are waiting for the unbundling so they can sell out to the highest bidder. it is all part of a grand plan. just like Call Australia. they came home to nz to do the same thing here cos they couldn’t believe how much money they got from the buy out. and they have already got a way into the aussie market so they can suck kiwis dry by selling it here. Clever, yes, Public good, no, keep them rich definitely.
