Holmes I appreciate – but I expect Hooten is being tatical

because this issue will never ever go away.

Helen is right: this is personal, and this issue will hound her, her party, her husband, for the rest of their lives.

NZ needs electoral reform or else we will see
the full scale americanisation of elections

Too late, too late.

If the incumbents corruptly stealing an election isn’t full Americanisation, I don’t know what is.

Helen is half right: we need electoral reform now – before the next election

but her party cannot be allowed to run this – or indeed anything.

Yeah agreed. Blogs are especially good for the quiet conservatives who can vent their frustrations about Clark & her cronies without fair of being clubber by frothing & spitting leftie. Because it always seems to be that in a public discussion it’s the lefties that go off the deep end with hyperbole & rage to the point where you’re too afraid to say anything for fear of your life!

It’s also fun to have a chuckle @ the comments that take the piss out of one of the most arrogant PMs of our time. Such as the following:).

Get the National party strategy guys to pose a question to Helen Clark that gives her no option but to state that she wished Labour supporters would not participate in blogs.

Left wing bloggers who have something to say and a mind of their own would ignore her and their input into debate would be welcome and would provide balance.

The apologists would do what they always do and obey her every command. We could then get back to debate rather than insane loopy shoot the messenger attacks and random hate speech for anyone who dares to disagree with the Govt.

It’s good to see the PM and Chris Trotter attacking Right Wing blogs as it shows were making an impact on the political scene. Heres a few lines that you David forgot from your conversation between Heather and Helen.
H1 and H2: Cackle Cackle. And he won’t even get costs.
H1: Do you know what my latest political trick is?
H2: No I don’t, I hope it’s better than the get free advertising to win elections trick by stealing taxpayers money to fund our pledge cards. that trick worked twice. Such a shame how it didn’t work a third time, thanks to that auditor general. It would be nice if we could find some way to sack Mr Brady and get a new auditor general, who does what we want.
H1: It involves our pledge card spending. it is to promise to repay the money, then once all the heat goes away we intorduce validating legislation that is passed under urgency and then we can say that there is new law so we don’t have to pay the money back any more.
H2: Great plan. What next?
H1: I also hope to end the tax-free status of charities that criticise my govt by changing the law to say that a 7 member panel appointed by our government can strip charities how do too much advocacy of their tax free status. Ending anonymous donations to political parties will also be another thing to be acxhieved in retrospective legislation
H2:Wonderfull plan Helen, that should help us stay in power, which is of course the whole purpose of our government.
H1: Heather, I got a new slogan for our govt;
One leader to rule them all.

Blogs have given an unprecedented voice to the little guys. This occurring in NZ while we have a socialist Govt which relies on spin and untruths to keep the confidence of the people was always going to end in tears.

A good start for Govt might be a new standard of openness and accountability. If we didn’t have spin and lies to trip them up on, we would be no threat to them.

Hey that would make a good election promise – a new standard of openness and accountability – bet it won’t catch on!

Under Clarkism, any criticism seems to be ‘unbalanced’. She cannot tolerate dissent, and the more effective the dissent, the more unfair she sees it to be.

(And as for Philip Field: will his actions be retrospectively validated tomorrow as well? Oh hang on, no need. Lying to Ingram enquiry was perfectly legal! That’s how the PM set it up.)

By the way – anyone seen the lastest issue of Investigate? Ian has this sidebar where he draws comparisons between what our Labour leaders say (quotes given), and quotes from Mein Kampf. Chillingly similar.
