Shortland Street

For those who didn’t see it, Shortland Street got fairly brutal last night with the pregnant CEO of the fictional hospital being blown into many many small pieces by a car bomb.
The NZ Herald has an lengthy review of the episode and the direction the show is taking.

Why didn’t they blow up the Liar bour party- now that would be worth watching.

The programme is far too intellectual for me.

I understand it was a Jaguar that was blown up. This is hardly news. Jaguar engines blow up all the time. In fact, it is expected by the owners of this unfortunate high priced junk that masquerades as the pride of British engineering that the engine at some point will spectacularly expire.
In order to ensure consistency with this symbolic trait of Jaguars, the manufacturer sometimes declines to ship the car with oil in the system.

They have to decide whether they will have more and more outlandish plots or whether they will focus on character development. The outlandish plots approach will eventually destroy the show. They need to develop some interesting personalities which is what people are really looking for with these soaps.

Shocking the way the common people still seem to follow this left wing lesbian socialist brainwashing excercise masquerading as a TV show.
Why won’t they all settle down with a good Ayn Rand instead?

Side Show Bob – “Why didn’t they blow up the Liar bour party- now that would be worth watching”
Simple really. SHIT SPLATTERS and that would have had the Greens and environmentalists up in arms.

I’ve watch Shortland Street since I was a kid. Theres been worse. But this is the first time they’ve ever done this to someone who was innocent in the way of the storyline.

Programs like Shortland St are getting so pathetic these days… I am becoming a fan of our local library and a good CD ..
The only TV programme I find good and I am a little addicted too is Primes “” Who wants to be a millionaire ..” pity the time its on though 6-7pm ..if Prime put it on 7pm ..I predict there would be a mass exodus of viewers from TV 1, 2 and 3
