Dom Post on John Key

gets a pretty good tick from today's Dominion Post Editorial. Some extracts:

National's new leader, has not put a foot wrong since supplanting Don Brash two weeks ago, The writes in an editorial.

The reaction from the commentariat, which has long been singing Mr Key's praises, has been equally positive. It will, however, take more than a couple of weeks of good press to make Helen Clark shake in her boots. In her 25 years in she has seen it all. Politics is not a race for sprinters, it is a contest for stayers and Mr Key has still to demonstrate he can perform when the going gets rough.

Nevertheless, he has put his stamp on the party and he has shown he knows where he wants to go and how he wants to get there. Those are qualities National desperately needs.

National's willingness to be part of the solution rather than just a in the wilderness is a welcome breath of fresh air. So has been Mr Key's leadership so far.

Whatever readers' political inclinations, all should welcome the fact that the has been put on its mettle.
