Saddam dead

Very sensible to not delay it, once the sentence was final. Hopefully his death will lead to better things, than what he did when alive, but it’s not likely to affect things much either way I predict. One or two other dictators might be having an uncomfortable night’s sleep tonight though.
And for Southpark fans, this may now lead to extra episodes of Saddam and Satan as homosexual lovers!

Both Phil and Sonic are right about the media selectivity and the fact everything about this episode won’t help but will rather hinder.
The timing and manner of Saddam’s death and the subsequent publicity are by calculated design. It would behove those interested in Iraq and the region to ask themselves who stands to gain from this sordid episode and who designed it in the first place.

I’ve always been sceptical because war ciminals are always on the loosing side, and that there are two sides to every story. However, in Saddam’s case I’m prepared to make an exception – and say thank goodness that junior has finally completed the job that daddy should have done 15 yrs ago.

Saddam was not hung for “war crimes”, but by the Iraqi government for killing his own citizens in vast numbers without due process.
