Spam Bill passes second reading

The anti-spam legislation passed its second reading yesterday. Pleasantly surprised it was passed unamiously (on a voice vote).

The law will come into effect six months after the third reading, so probably in June 2007.

One of the possible outcomes from the law, will be a central point where one can send spam to, to help in trackdown down major league spammers. In Australia the anti-spam agency has actually crated a plugin for Outlook which allows you to report spam to it (crucially it forwards it on with the full headers included) with the click of a button.
