Selwyn convicted of further fraud charges Add this story to Scoopit!.

Former blogger Tim Selwyn has had his jail term increased by a further two years, with a guilty plea to 146 GST fraud charges.

Tim has now amassed a not inconsiderable list of convictions, ranging (off memory) from electoral fraud to identity theft, to property damage to GST fraud. His sedition conviction is still silly and unnecessary, but he isn’t exactly a poster child for lawful behaviour.

Worse of all, his once thoughtful blog has been reduced to 50 posts a week on how George W Bush is Satan. I used to read every word Tim wrote, but now my eyes glaze over after a few words from his replacement blogger.

If only he was a Labour MP he’d still be free range.

  2. baxter Says:

The extra term needs to be divided by three to arrive at the truth…Is he eligible for home detention,if so goody he won’t miss any Super 14 games and can have his booze delivered to quaff while he watches.

  3. Barnsley Bill Says:

Personally I feel sorry for bummer. The rabid dribbling is no doubt due to the fact that the gimp is missing his master. Lucky for the boys that tim will be extending his D wing cabaret (appearing nightly, matinees wednesday and saturday) for the foreseeable future. Seriously though, does anybody believe he would have got porridge if he had not thrown the axe through Klarkes window?

  4. Murray Says:

Bill, once more with feeling, it wasn’t the axe they went him for. Its what he wrote.

And regardless of Tim being a meathead no one in a modern democracy should be going to jail for “sedition”. We have a wealth of other laws that are applicable in regards to anything that can be labeled “seditious” if it falls outside the range free speech.

That the cops went has far as to try and get a mistrial based on one member of the jury having attended the same lecture as Selwyn ten years prior tells you how much they wanted to nail him.

Whats the Patato Field up to today, sitting in the sun somewhere before wanding into our parliament to help prop up our shonky government tomorrow.

    Cops are tops!

    Not.

By all means avert your eyes…to the now almost inevitable nuclear attack on Iran.

  6. ChickenLittle Says:

Funnily enough Bomber hasn’t said a word about it to the 5 or 6 people that still comment on Tims old site.

    GWB is still Satan though.
Oh and Howard is Satan too.
Also all Police and those fellas called whiteys??

Must be quite religous bloke that Bomber.

  7. Blair Says:

Fear not Selwyn fans! Mulholland Drive publishes Tim’s letters verbatim.

We wade through Bomber’s bullshit for the good oil, so you don’t have to.

  8. David Farrar Says:

    You’re a good man Blair.

  9. JohnDalley Says:

YOu would think the man is an idiot.
Who in there right mind brings so much attention on theselves that they get found out for gst fraud. But hey it’s probably ok in your lots eyes, afteralll it is only another tax and we know what you creedy lot think about paying tax’s.
And i’m not aware he was jailed on sedition charges. Was he!

  10. ZenTiger Says:

JohnDalley, that’s a pretty poor assumption. I for one do not condone fraud. If you need a money angle to fit in with your world view of the right wing, try this:

The more the government loses to fraud, and then incurs extra expense catching, judging and jailing the fraudsters, the MORE tax money they spend.

The debate is often not about paying tax, but about paying a fair share, and for it to be spent as wisely as possible. Following on from that is how much the government needs to be involved in to do their job efficiently.

    But you know that, right?

  11. Murray Says:

John if you can find any blogger who said
Tim is smart cookie who never put a foot wrong let me know.

Almost everything I’ve seen – including my own comments – start something like “Tim Selywn is a bad bastard but sedition…”

Meanwhile that Spud Field, what an honest upright citizen hey? Davide Bendover-Pope, gosh yea please babysit my kids any time, Michael The Myopic take my money please! Helen throw another hundred thousand to Hammas Clark?

Saints all of them is it?

  12. Tiger Coxhead Says:

Bomber has been an arse since his time on Craccum, and probably before. Not that I’m a fan of Bush but he usually comments about “the Americans” whenever he appears on Radio NZ. He shows that he’s an unsophisticated goon and one of those people who are somewhat famous just because they are somewhat famous.

  13. gnadsmasher Says:

Along with the bogus charges against and prolonged detention of Ahmed Zaoui (the legal costs of which are due to the government’s constant appeals of adverse rulings and unjustified delay in providing a summary of supposedly classified allegations against him), Selwyn’s sedition conviction shows the authoritarian penchant and moral bankrupcy of this Labour government. As for the GST fraud–how many of you have never paid for or received in cash in order to avoid GST?

As for the downward turn of Tumeke, all too true. What is interesting is that Bomber permits ad hominem, derogatory, insulting and defamatory comments and misinformation against individuals and groups to be spewed by those he agrees with it, but when the tables are reversed and these commentators are challenged on their lies and other shoddy claims, he removes the post. So not only has the site become a haven for anti-US and anti-Zionist (and a few anti-Semetic) running dogs, but it has become quite uncivil to those who dare to buck the views of the guest host and his acolytes. That sucks.

655,000 killed (and many more to come) in Iraq because of the lies delivered by the Bush Junta. That’s a really good impersonation of Satan if I ever saw one!

Max:655,000 killed (and many more to come) in Iraq because of the lies delivered by the Bush Junta. That’s a really good impersonation of Satan if I ever saw one!

Not all of those deaths are due to Bush etc. Many of them are the fault of locals, Syria, Iran or France. And there weren’t any lies.

  16. Max Says:

    No lies?

When the CIA advised the Whitehouse there weren’t any WMD’s in Iraq?

    Pfffft…

Oh thats right – blame it all on Iran, to justify the upcoming invasion.

  17. chiz Says:

Uh, when exactly, before the war, did the CIA give any such advice?
