Cactus Kate supports Smacking Ban Bill

Sue Bradford and Helen Clark may be surprised to learn they have an ally in Cactus Kate. She is supporting them in their law change to ban smacking.

They may not be flattered by Kate’s rationale though:

For the record though I am with the filthy Commo’s on this. I support Sue Bradford’s Bill.

While I don’t think the Bill will solve all the problems of family violence, it sends a very clear message to stupid people (ie. the leftist electorate) that hitting your kids is not acceptable.

Remember most laws are an attempt to protect the stupid from themselves and unfortunately New Zealand’s worst child abusers are the poor and stupid. This is a law aimed at the lowest forms of life in New Zealand that can’t be trusted at all not to beat the be jesus out of their kids as they are not sophisticated enough to tell the difference between a gentle smacking and a Jake The Muss beating. It can turn the middle and upper class gentle smackings into a criminal offence, yes, but you are just going to have to live with the changes for the sake of the offspring of the poor and stupid.

At an ACT, Libertarianz or National Party policy meeting this is NOT a law we would ever dream of promoting when we look at the sophistication and responsibility of our own membership, however Labour, Maori & Green Party and Alliance voters are simply too dumb and irresponsible to be left to discipline their kids in a physical manner. Their Parties know that and so are doing the responsible thing by passing legislation banning smacking.

The Anti-smacking Bill is an admission that their own voters are too stupid to apply a basic parenting skill correctly.

Lets give them credit for realising this.

I disagree on this rare occassion with Kate. Look at this case here where a Timaru mother dropped her 18-month daughter to the footpath 10 or 11 times and then threw her headfirst to the ground,

Will this law change stop that woman? Not in a million years.
