Group Sex Frequency Add this story to Scoopit!.

The NZ Herald has taken the “throwaway” remark from Clint Rickards’ lawyer that half of NZers have engaged in group sex as an excuse to write a story about how frequent it is.

They dig up a Durex survey which found 26% of NZers have admitted to group sex. Well that is 26% of NZers who fill in durex surveys, so I would assume it is probably less than 20% overall.

What they don’t distinguish between is MFM group sex and FMF group sex. I suspect the former is far more frequent than the latter. I know quite a few people who have had a FMF threesome, but only one person who has had a MFM.

I would think the ‘group’ sex ,as opposed to ‘threesomes’ is more common amoungst alpha male groups. The team mentality means that the spoils are shared amounst the group. Both to show who is more dominant in a group and to promote bonding.
Sorry computer geeks, will have to stick to cyber sex.

As an aside , the police itself using their power to get ‘cheap dates’ from amoung the woman they come across in their work is probaly very common

    Or MMM group sex.

Three words – The Hite Report.

A notorious report conducted by Shere Hite (note S.Hite) that put female infidelity rates at 70%. Turns out her reseach suffered from a slight self-selection bias problem.

I agree DPF, probably less than 20% and I imagine a lot less.

  3. Craig Ranapia Says:

Well, I’ve some advice for John Haigh: Stick to the day job, because your stand-up sexology routine sucks.

But, again, what was his point? I’m sure you can find a survey where x% of teenage schoolboys say they have, or would like to, fuck one of their teachers. It’s certainly no crime for an adult female to have sexual intercourse with one – or a dozen – teenage boys over the age of consent. I think, however, most tachers and their professional/regulatory bodies would echo Cate Blanchett’s less than sympathetic view of the character she plays in Notes on a Scandal, which I read recently: “If a teacher was shagging my 17 year-old son in the art room, I’d be down there with a pitchfork.”

I also think it would be fair comment to point out the Christopher Harder was struck off for any criminal conviction but conduct judged by the Law Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal to be that of someone who was not a fit and proper person to practice law.

  4. dad4justice Says:

If any of my four children say, hey dad – was group sex the norm in your prime? I would turn around to them and say what a croc of shit.

Rickards lawyer speaks does speak for me and a majority , the lying gripper! How police could think of reinstating that scumbag is beyond belief .

  5. dad4justice Says:

Rickards lawyer does NOT speak for the majority, oops I meant to say , too many speights , however as a dad I found the comment from the unscrupulous lawyer fucking offensive !!!

  6. Zutroy Says:

I’m not a big fan of John Haigh QC for reasons other than this trial, but some perspective is required here.

This was a throwaway comments at the end of a long and tiring trial for Haigh. He said his comments in the heat of the moment, and has subsequently noted that his comments were flippant and not really what he meant to say.

What is more revealing is that this sole comment wsas turned into a whole article involving interviews with a swingers club. Sensationalism, anyone?

  7. pdm Says:

The closest I ever got to group sex was on two occasions in the mid 60′s when three or four of us took some girls to a mates house whose parents were away. We all then went into separate rooms, shut the doors, and as far as I know we were all `lucky’. If anyone wasn’t they weren’t admitting it.

I do not recall group sex being available to all and sundry through my more sexually active years. At 60 chance would be a fine thing now!

  8. Craig Ranapia Says:

    Zutroy:

Here’s my perspective: He’s a more than competent QC, and from what I’ve seen of him (and heard from people who know his work much better than I do) he doesn’t just stand up in court and free associate in the middle of a trial. The comment may have been ‘flippant’, but it was an all too accurate reflection of the line he was running and no amount of ex post facto spin changes that. And as I said, even if what he said was true what was the point? Anthing beyond trying to ‘normalise’ pretty grotesque and exploitative sexual predation for the jury?

  9. SPC Says:

Is female male female group sex the failure to tell twin sisters apart? Ot their deliberate failure to tell you they have a twin sister?

Is male female male group sex …

Perhaps the lawyer is saying group sex is prevalent amongst the police force where they exchange info anout females who are easily convinved into be dominated by the uniform.

  10. SPC Says:

Perhaps the lawyer is saying group sex (as in females shared between police) is prevalent amongst the police force where they exchange info “about females who are easily convinced into being dominated by the uniform”. Though perhaps not to the point of wanting to watch each other at it – which I presume is of a form of mate wanking/bonding which some would not care for.

  11. nony Says:

You are all sheltered. MFM and FMF encounters are pretty common in the circles I move in. No one has felt ‘exploited’ to my knowledge. I honestly thought it was normal until I read this thread.

To me gay sex is exploitive and disgusting. I wouldn’t expect such bluster if it was described as ‘normal’

  12. Pita Says:

Perhaps what he meant to say was, the ability to get away from the office coupled with access to a company vehicle plus nice uniform complete with sex toys (cuffs and batons) provides the opportunity to engage in group sex…I wonder how long it will be before a constable gets a tazer in his bare ass?

  13. Craig Ranapia Says:

To me gay sex is exploitive and disgusting. I wouldn’t expect such bluster if it was described as ‘normal’

Nony, you’re certainly moving in the wrong circles. Didn’t you get the memo: Fags are such sex-obsessed animals the gang-bang / orgy is the ‘normal’ mode of homo-sex – hell, it’s how the Sodomites say ‘hello’ – because it’s the only way to satiate (briefly) their raging unnatural lusts.

I guess I live in the boring ‘abnormal’ half of the general population where sex isn’t an exercise in crowd control, and quality really is more important than quantity.

  14. Porcupine Says:

Well I don’t know about group sex but sleaze is obviously more common than I thought

Serious question – I’m interested not judging. It might help my daughter.

    First, lets do the maths:

    3 women surface in BOP
For each one there are say 1000 who hung round police, bands and sportsmen and think “gee I was a tosser when I was young but it wasn’t rape”
Times ca 20 provinces = 60,000 women in a similar situation.

Now if any of those women are reading the blog answer this – why in your younger days did you bed these slimy sleaze balls when there were nice guys to be had?

I guess in the interest of fairness I should ask the guys – if you were in this sleaze ball category, why?

  15. Kiwi Bloke Says:

I know of CCTV footage floating around of a cute instructor at the Majestic Club who gave two men a workout in the pool there. She was yum!

  16. brian_smaller Says:

It didn’t just happen in the BoP. I had a girlfriend who was a Police Groupie in her teens (16-17) in Palmy back in late 70s. She got shagged by multiple cops at the Police Bar at the station in PN on a number of occasions. I have no idea what things are like now, but in the 70s and 80s there was a lot of that sort of thing going on. Hell, I grew up at the Mount and that was wife-swapping and key party central. Mind you, there wasn;t much else to do in those days.

  17. kiwi in america Says:

Seemingly ‘harmless’ sexual actions have consequences. Whilst Rikards has escaped a guilty verdict in this instance, one cannot dispose of a sense of unease and distaste about his almost predatory sexual practices. These will have repercussions within his family that will go largely un-noted by the media. The most obvious consequence will be his job which he is almost certain not to return to. Clearly his mates who engaged in similar practices have proven to a jury that they crossed the line and committed rape.

Nony-to consider 3somes somewhat outside the norm of what people in stable and nurturing relationships do is not ‘sheltered’.

  18. ross Says:

    > Anything beyond trying to ‘normalise’ pretty grotesque and exploitative sexual predation for the jury?

I think you’re missing the point. It was the prosecution that was trying to paint group sex as something akin to cannibalism. I suspect it does happen quite a lot…between consenting adults. If others find it grotesque, I suggest they stick to more wholesome activities like gardening or lawn bowls.

Um….? So, if 3-somes of any variety are common/normal, but gay sex isnt? How do you writhe around on a bed or floor, and make sure not to touch or watch one of the other two people you’re doing it with?

I would have thought (not having actually taken part in one) that part of the attraction of a 3-some was that almost by definition, theres going to be something a bit gay going on, whether you’re a participant or just observing that gay-ness?

  20. MC Says:

Ok, to the people who write in blogs: just stop and think about how the other of society is living,

those middle class plumbers/carpenters who play rugby on the weekends or those cops who do a shit job in a tough town. They all root around. they dont have computers and they dont write in these blogs. Go and do a niteshift and reality of the real world will smack you all in the face. They had consensual sex with other of age human beings. Whats more sickening?
Helen clark forging a painting? An MP who smokes drugs? Homo tranny Cops? An Mp who is a maori activist with a long list of criminal convictions? Are they all more morally sound than rickards? a man who kept you all safe in your beds at 3am while he was out fighting fuckin crims for 25 years? Stop whinging and pick up a weapon and stand at post you morally selective sheltered fucks.

Group sex, “YUM” loved it in the late 70s and 80s, did mean a few Drs visits for the STDs, which im paying for now with a bit of a drip.

Tetracycline stopped working for me so had to let the chlamydia go.

http://www.online4love.com is the primary way my husband and I meet likeminded “friends with benefits.” There’s no uncomfortable wondering if you ought to approach someone, you already know upfront when you meet them, and it is definitely worth the extra cost of becoming silver/gold imo, so you can exchange notes or pics before meeting and make sure its a good fit.

My hubby is str8 and I am bi and we have had no problem finding partners on online4love.com. We’ve had fun sex with lots of single men, single women and full swap couples that we met on O4L. And yes, I’m real, and no, I don’t work for O4L or think they’re perfect (they can be pricey and they goober up email sometimes,) but I think they’re the best thing going by far for meeting other people who just want to have sex without strings!
