It’s only good when we do it

It’s pretty hard to attack National’s policy to make charitable donations tax deductible to the limit of your annual income.

But this doesn’t stop Jordan who labels it Tory Charity. Can’t even make up his own sneer lines, so borrows them off Maharey.

But what I love is how he claims that “Charitable giving in a social democratic country is a very different (and wholly welcome) kettle of fish”

So let’s look at this.

When National encourages private charity, it is a bad thing and one should smear it as being “Tory Charity”

But the same thing if Labour is in power is “Charitable giving in a social democratic country” and highly desirable.

It’s at this point you realise that it isn’t even worth trying to debate the issue. I mean an argument which is little more that bad when they do it, good when we do it because we are nice and they are nasty is just not one you can rationally debate.
