Just ridicolous

I am on the record of being no fan of Brethren involvement in NZ politics. In fact I am not a fan of any church getting involved. But it angers and appals me that Mike Williams suggests that MPs should be refusing to meet with constituents who are Brethren. That is absurd and religious bigotry.

An MP should meet with any constituent, regardless of religion. There is a word of difference between meeting constituents in their electorate office to discuss problems or issues, and a meeting with say the hierarchy of a religion to discuss political campaigns.

Could one imagine the outcry if an MP refused to meet a constituent who was a member of a union, just because they don’t approve of that union’s political activities?
