Princes Street Labour Party

A well placed spy has alerted me to a very dirty and divisive campaign underway for the Chairmanship of the Princes Street branch of the Labour Party.
It involves allegations of violence, threats of defamation, formal complaints to the NZ Council of Labour, claims and counter-claim. All as a lead up to the election next Wednesday.
People involved include incumbent David Do, challenger Alex Foulkes, and Meg Bates (who works for Helen Clark), plus many former officers. E-mails on this stoush are going widely including to Hon Judith Tizard, Anna Crowe (YL Vice-President) Jeremy Greenbrook (likely new President of Young Labour), candidates Phil Twyford and Stuart Nash.
There has also been complaints laid with the Police regarding alleged threats, plus accusations of members being illegally removed from e-mail discussion lists, refusal to allow all candidates access to membership details etc.
All in all, not a fun time for Princes Street Labour. Will Helen sort it out? Will the NZ Council expel anyone? Will anyone sue? Will the Police arrest anyone? And who will be elected?

No one will be prosecuted, they are all labour Party members, the best defense money can buy.
I wonder if Clint Rickards is a Labour party member…stands to reason given his lack of convictions.
March 13th, 2007 at 11:34 am
All credit to them. Sounds like a good fun election – just like the old days!!
March 13th, 2007 at 11:39 am
I’ve seen the emails and it looks pretty much a storm in a tea cup (albeit a pain in the arse for the Labour people who have to deal with it).
Whaleoil, concluding that Rickards got off because he is a Labour party member (when you presumably have no evidence of either his membership or this being the reason he got off) is unnecessary stirring. Perhaps you could better turn your attention to how we can all change our society and our police culture to eradicate rape?
March 13th, 2007 at 11:47 am
I’m intrigued with the idea that removing someone from an email list could be “illegal”
Care to clarify Mr F?
March 13th, 2007 at 11:47 am
This is just typical of the way the Labour Party conducts elections which is why they try and rig things behind closed doors. They have been pretty successful at keeping the lid on simmering hatreds that permiate that party. This is why she cannot get anything happening in her Government. She relies on slogans for policy and a few nasty barbs towards the National Party. But at the end of the day the Labour Party is paralysed internally and will not be able to advance a policy on anything useful.

When it comes to good governance the Socialists dont know the meaning of these words. They are ethical amd moral pygmies.
March 13th, 2007 at 11:59 am
gd,
but they are ideological giants.
March 13th, 2007 at 12:15 pm
Those wacky left wingers, eh? Not only do they all think in unison and brook no divergence from the party line, but they also all hate each other and constantly fight amongst themselves. The scamps.
March 13th, 2007 at 12:16 pm
Unauthorised rather than illegal.
March 13th, 2007 at 12:41 pm
As long as they are fighting amongst themselves at least that diverts their minds from thinking up new ways to rape pillage and burn the honest hard working citizens.
March 13th, 2007 at 12:47 pm
“A well placed spy” – so you admit that the National Party conducts spying on the Labour Party then? What does that say about the National Party really? Hmmm “The Hollow Men II: A study in the politics of espionage”??
(and yes, of course every political party undertakes such actions to some degree… but none are stupid enough to readily admit it)
March 13th, 2007 at 12:50 pm
The mails have been spinning around all over Umm, even me (and I am not a labour party member) have seen them.
March 13th, 2007 at 12:53 pm
Goodness people take my terminology so literally. I use the word “spy” often to describe anyone who sends me juicy info.
Alas my budget doesn’t stretch to actually hiring spies.
March 13th, 2007 at 12:57 pm
Goodness. I heard a rumour someone in the National Party HQ illegally drank all the water out of the cooler without filling it up again. I hope the police aren’t too busy looking into the Labour parties problems as this doubtless needs attention.
March 13th, 2007 at 1:08 pm
This is the kind of thing that happens when you geniunely believe your opponents are:
“… are all ideologically blinkered, predisposed to hating anyone with a different political point of view”.
March 13th, 2007 at 1:16 pm
Danyl’s wit is misplaced. The accusation about the e-mail lists is clearly seperated from the Police complaints about assaults. And I said earlier unauthorised is the correct term.
In a political party being removed from an e-mail list, removes your rights of participation and information. It is an informal type of expulsion, which is why due process should be used. I understand the removal has been reversed.
March 13th, 2007 at 1:16 pm
“predisposed to hating anyone with a different political point of view”.
Lucky we never see that sort of odious behaviour round here eh readers!
March 13th, 2007 at 1:18 pm
My understanding is that there have beem no complaints to police about any assaults Mr F.
March 13th, 2007 at 1:27 pm
Shock! Horror! Next thing we know, one of the key players will be reported as having done business with an Exclusive Brethren lol
March 13th, 2007 at 1:44 pm
Sonic as you are highly trained in handling hissing/striking venomous snakes – do you think you could sort the little tiff out for the absent anaconda ?
March 13th, 2007 at 1:48 pm
“hissing/striking venomous snakes”
Don’t be so hard on yourself mate.
March 13th, 2007 at 1:57 pm
What a pathetic return .
March 13th, 2007 at 2:07 pm
I’ll try and mention lesbofeminazis next time if you think that would be any help.
Seriously Dad4J you are easily the most vitriolic and venomous poster here.
March 13th, 2007 at 2:22 pm
Haha, are you listening to parliament sonsick? as supreme leader just said we have the best parole system in the world . Is she on the same drugs as you darling ? Order -order -point of order – what a sham !!
March 13th, 2007 at 2:33 pm
Sonic: You deliberately miss the point, as usual. The ‘left’ blogosphere, recently argued that such behavior was the preserve of the ‘right’. How then do you explain this little mess, or the quote from Jordan that people who disagreed with him were ideologically blinkered haters?
Do you have to pass Hypocrisy 101 to gain membership of the Labour party?
March 13th, 2007 at 2:40 pm
I’m not a member of the Labour party mate, do try and keep up.
Also I have no idea what or who makes up the “‘left’ blogosphere”
Any chance you could deal with the points I make rather than lumping me into abstract catagories to which I do not belong?
Thanks
S

“Any chance you could deal with the points I make rather than lumping me into abstract catagories to which I do not belong?”
Sonic, sonic, sonic. You have a lot to learn about how the Blogosphere operates my friend…

Sonic, sonic, sonic. You have a lot to learn about how the Blogosphere operates my friend…
March 13th, 2007 at 3:03 pm
I know Eric but statements like “The ‘left’ blogosphere, recently argued” just drive me nuts.
March 13th, 2007 at 3:16 pm
This is just for the Chairmanship of a branch? (Albeit an influential one, with – as I understand it – a long history of such stoushes).
Makes you wonder what goes on to get a list ranking though, doesn’t it?
And not just in the Labour Party, either…
March 13th, 2007 at 3:56 pm
Aaah sonic so you are a hired gun then. A mercenary or possibly just willing to prostitute yourself for the money.
Your defensiveness over the months and desire to try and shut down any discussion that shows signs of opening wounds on the left certainly indicate this. Or perhaps you are further to the left again ? What are you a member of?
March 13th, 2007 at 4:00 pm
David how is contributing to a discussion “trying to shut it down”
You really can be rather a silly little man at times.
March 13th, 2007 at 4:12 pm
Better to be a silly man than a sonsick snake !!
March 13th, 2007 at 4:13 pm
Sonic,
You are the most prominent pinko troll on this site. Whenever DPF writes anything even slightly critical of the Government, Helen Clark, or the Labour Party, you are the first person to attempt to hijack the discussion. Just as you are doing here.
Fuck off and do some of the work that the taxpayer’s paying you to do. When John Key is Prime Minister, I expect you to be the first dead wood to be thrown into the sea.
March 13th, 2007 at 4:17 pm
The sea would reject such a creature.
March 13th, 2007 at 4:22 pm
Sonic: Lol. Very good. But of course rather than lumping you into that category, you seem to have *self* identified.
March 13th, 2007 at 4:44 pm
sonic, I was talking to a journalist friend about the blogs. And your name came up amongst other nom de plumes. Her response was “oh yeah he is famous for being so stupid”
IP was mentioned as the most amusing and funnily enough D4J as the most intriguing….She saw a story in D4J
March 13th, 2007 at 4:51 pm
Now now sonic, you know it is against all the PC rules to take cheap shots at us “little people”. Make yourself known and I’ll lay a complaint with the HRC.
Not amused at all that is the cheapest, lowest ad hominum to date and I will thank you not to be such a nasty person again
March 13th, 2007 at 4:58 pm
Yes CC, did you show your jounalist friend yesterday’s lovely thread where you informed us all that Hitler’s Wermacht were “a fine body of men”?
Go on, I’m sure he/she will love it
You guys really need to get your line of attack worked out, I am either an evil genuis working for the government with the uncanny power to get you all off topic, or a stupid fool who is easy to best in argument.
David, sorry but it was a rather silly comment. I’ll play nice if it upsets you so.
March 13th, 2007 at 5:11 pm
yawn.He/she? I said “her” in the post which shows you dont read things. Which we all know.
March 13th, 2007 at 6:04 pm
“Her response was “oh yeah he is famous for being so stupid”
You been talking to Captain Coddington again skipper, who is of course famous for being er, clever, right?
So who is paying for IPs comments? They are totally in line with National message. I hope he enjoys muesli bars. And what about yourself and D4J, bigots party maybe? And anyone remotely supportive of Israel – the Mossad? Get the feeling these attacks on sonic are going nowhere? Try addressing the issues raised. You can do that, right?
March 13th, 2007 at 7:00 pm
“And what about yourself and D4J, bigots party maybe?”
Yawn , yawn , yawn -how orginal you silly person , hows it going on the snake farm H2 and K2. Talking about a party are you vipers off to a party tonight in the green room , as Peter is going but Paul can’t go as he lives in a house with two security guards , you know just down the road from me ? What a bunch of lying freaks . Do you want the file number that ? gave me or the photo’s .Shut it d4j as payback is sweet eh ?
March 13th, 2007 at 7:38 pm
It’s no problem mate, the more they throw on the childish insults the more they expose the paucity of their arguments.
I’ve always thought that anyone who begins a post with “yawn” may as well give up and turn off the computer. Two great examples are above
Oh and Captain Crab

Back to topic at hand. Labour is evil and corrupt and that is all there is to say. The sooner those evil wankers are out of the great halls of power the better.
The only mistake that Field made in Labour was that he got caught! No wonder they are trying to shut down this mess on Princess St.
Speaking of which why is it that wherever Helen C goes Judith T just happens to be visiting or passing through the same spot???
March 13th, 2007 at 10:38 pm
Whats the problem throw a few shotguns and a box of shells in the room, lock the door and hope they are all good shots.

Rickards got off because 24 different people decided he wasn’t guilty.
And, what’s this police ‘rape culture’? I spent six years in the police and have no idea what you are talking about.
March 14th, 2007 at 7:26 am
No, No, No Gooner – it must be true cause……
well……
just cause.
The fact that you spent 6 years in the Police and didn’t see that all Policemen are into the ‘rape culture’ just means that you are working for the man. Know what I mean?.
You are now on the LIST.
Know what I mean?
All Police are bad (until they’re needed to stop the latest fu*kup from doing what fu*kups do) and are such a gooooooood target.
IF 3 did it – All did it.
Such easy logic.
Its like women with false rape complaints – Find 3 that have done it and…………
Simple aye?
