None of which impressed Newstalk ZB’s veteran political editor Barry Soper, who’s had more trips to Washington than TVNZ’s lost luggage. “Randy Schriver? Who’s she?” he demanded.
And yet these people expect officials to spend time answering their questions? Perhaps if they demonstrated some depth of knowledge which suggested their place on this junket was deserved, they might be taken seriously.
If you were a busy US official, why on earth would you agree to be interviewed by this lot?
On the other hand, they’re (sadly) the best we’ve got so Clark has an obligation – outside of the US-controlled events – to make herself available.
