Clark on You Tube

May 17th, 2007 at 7:34 pm by David Farrar

The Government is catching up and in a first has put a video summary of the budget by Helen Clark on You Tube. Well done to them for starting to embrace the medium.

While it is a bit unfair to compare the PM promoting the budget to the Opposition Leader doing a tour of Parliament, I am struck by how relaxed and natural John managed that video, while Helen does come across somewhat stilted. But to be fair the video is about promoting the budget not Helen.

I hope the Nats do put up on You Tube John’s budget response speech. I love the few minutes of it I saw, and would like to see the whole thing.

I love the “the government will give you $1000 to kick start the savings”.

LOL. So nice of them to give money away! Arent they so generous!

Actually I think Kiwisaver is a good idea. The more NZers invest in something other than their homes, the more cash there will be floating around looking for investment opportunities to bankroll.

Combined with tax reductions on R&D, this could actually be a good combination in helping keep NZ competitive.

The difference between the company I worked for in NZ and now here in the UK, is that this one has budget for R&D. Its a huge advantage to keeping us at the cutting edge, boosting our reputation and consequently winning more lucrative work.

John Key should put his speech on the National Party website (as well as his own web site) – together with Chris Trotter’s comment after the speech about “seeing the next PM.” It was priceless – must have had the socialists fuming anyway the speech can be found here = on the TV3 website.

I hope all the socialists enjoy watch him in action – just brilliant.

Selma … can’t you do better than that? It really makes you and the rest of your motley crowd look pathetic …

For and my family ‘Closeup’ on TV1 last night was instructive. A relaxed and confident John Key vs a pelulant, defensive and a very very old looking MC.

Come in No.2. Your times up and the word is that Mallard is already doing the numbers.

I hope National make short hard hitting videos for ‘you tube’ and tele come election year. There were lots produced in election year over in the US, some were very humorous and hard hitting. It’s dosn’t take a hour long documentary to show the many fuck ups and depravity of the Liarbour government and who wants to watch these clowns for longer then three minutes anyway.

Why do I feel reduced to the age of an infant listening to the Dear Leader.

The job of Prime Minister is a thankless task. She works sooo hard making sure we’re all warm, safe & secure in our retirement. Where would we be with out her. We should be very grateful the 22nd most powerful woman in the world takes the time to make a Youtube video.
