No more Paris stories
June 30th, 2007 at 5:10 pm by David FarrarHilarious clip from a US news show as an anchor not only refuses to read out the latest Paris Hilton story but tries to set it on fire and then shreds it. Meanwhile her co-hosts just laugh and win her up as she melts down. They start sniffing the story she is ripping up, and then get the cmeras to show some Paris footage just to wind her up even more.

I remember reading awhile ago that while Paris Hilton is portrayed as a bimbo you can’t argue with the intelligence behind her remarkable results.
It got me thinking, anyway.

At the Kevin bloody Wilson concert in Auckland last night, he sure as hell got stuck into Helen Klark – and the audience loved it.
My favourite:
.. she must’ve been kicked out of a trans-sexual group for “not trying hard enough”

The theory here in the US is that MSNBC scripted the whole thing.

Perhaps the transexualgroup said they had confidence in her but there is always room for improvement.

I am sure that fairy princess royal helen klark would like to get stuck into the not to bright paris hilton , and then pass her round the transexual vulture club , while peter gets stuck in another toilet debauchery and they all lived happily ever after in lasciviousland.

I love Paris. When she was very young she made a decision to be the biggest airhead the world has ever known when she grew up. Because she has succeeded beyond her wildest dreams makes her more successful than any of us will ever be.
Vote:I just love her to bits.

DPF,
Have you totally given up on moderating this blog? Or is the kind of silly attention seeking behaviour that Peter Burns is indulging in, is ok just so long as his target is the Labour Party and the left in general?
Peter,
We all know that you have experienced huge problems in your life and a man is entitled to some sense of grief over deep hurtful losses and systemic injustice. (And yes from personal experience I know more about the Family Court and false accusations than you probably assume.) But in the long run grown ups also take personal responsibility for their behaviour, and I suggest that an honest accounting it is long overdue in your life.
It is time you asked yourself just how many of the difficulties you have faced…have also been of your own making.

Thanks for the opening Rag. The Paris Hilton issue seems to have run its course anyway, so I hope Mr. Farrar will forgive me for posting a message to Idiot Savant here, given that Idiot now prevenst commenst on his blog.
I’ve never wanted to post there. Idiot and his mates with their assumption of their own ideological superiority, their projection of themselves as the enlightened intelligentsia just makes me want to vomit.
After reading an article on NZ Conservative I decided to check his blog out, and what do I see but the host indulging in just the kind of behaviour (with his attack on George Bush) that he claimed caused him to shut down his comments section. He claimed the comments were getting toxic.

“I do not want that fucker in my country,”
Witness the cowardice and hypocrisy of the left.
Run Idiot, run.
The days when the elitist left control what language and in what forum political ideas are discussed are fast drawing to a close. The deceit is over. The sun is going down on socialism and your sick destructive ideology is about to be consigned to the dustbins of history.
You can deny challenges to your assumed intellectual superiority there on your pissant blog Idiot, but out here in the real world, we the people have not only the internet, but talk radio and cable TV, and we will say what we want the way we want to say it using the words we want to use, and unlike the way it has been, there isn’t a damn thing you can do to stop us.
Not much fun for the left is it, now the rabbit has the shotgun?

Paris doesn’t have the problem, it’s the simple minded idots that hang off her every word and action. In a way most of us are to blame Paris is such an airhead, I know my wife buys those stupid magazines that feature Paris on every second page is it any wonder the poor girl is as mad as a snake. Paris would be just another nobody if nobody gave a stuff.

D4J – sadly you are not learning about what is appropriate and inappropriate.
I’m not going to tolerate talk of Peter Davis and toilets in the way you post. You expose me to defamation, and it just turns the blog into a flame war.
Your last ban was for two weeks. This one is for a month. They double each time. You can post again on 1 August.

“Paris would be just another nobody if nobody gave a stuff.”
Actually, nobody does give a stuff. Nobody with any intelligence that is. That the mainstream media sees Paris Hilton as a means of attracting audience is just another measure of how low they have sunk, and who they are broadcasting to. They like to assume all kinds of self important airs, but the reality is that journalism today is merely a weak and insubstantial shadow of the profession it once was.

I think you have a rather distorted and fantastical view of the past. The media has always printed material for public consumption and celebrities have always taken up plenty of space. Lady Di used to be the media favourite.
Women like this have exhibitionist tendencies and seek this publicity. They have done so since Cleopatra, right through Lady Gydiver, Florence Nightingale, Marilyn Munroe etc. It’s just part of their makeup. In Paris’ case it is extreme, because she has no reason for being a celebrity except Fame itself (recall David Bowie’s song). Psychologists will tell you that her characteristics are brought about by lack of quality parental attention when she was younger!?
Rather than admire her, the majority of her readers despise, pity, ridicule or are simply curious about her. Rather than a role model she is a target, which is why she served more than the Californian average jailtime for her recent misdemeanour. It’s like she is the backlash to Warhol’s 15 minutes of fame culture. Through Paris many young people will see the pitfalls of fame and not seek it with such a vengeance or for its own sake, given how unforgiving the press has been in slating her every move. Call it aversion therapy, the next generation of young people are likely to be less attention seeking as a result.
Don’t blame the messenger.

I disagree I think Paris is very beautiful and very talented. Her headline modelling jobs on a topline car caused sales to skyrocket. The CEO interviewed by Oreilly Factor claimed she negotiated the deal herself and it was extremely expensive. When Oreilly said ,But you are a billionaire yourself he replied “I’m no Hilton though”. Likewise when she modelled eating a hamburger that hamburger’s sales shot through the roof….She reminds me of the sexiest woman ever Marilyn Monroe, everyone claimed she couldn’t act and couldn’t sing but that didn’t stop every movie she ever made being a box office hit. The best of Paris is yet to come.

I salute the TV presenter’s attitude. After all, who gives a toss about that imbecile Hilton?
Vote:July 1st, 2007 at 7:07 pm
I have viewed her sex tape and allowing for her youth at the time and her schoolgirl training for the green light sex, movie(thats a blondie bimbo/airhead)for you, Rich and a dumb slut.I would give her a 3/10, needs to try harder and work on those positions. tv3 should show the film, ,its a hoot.

I am dismayed that this young woman still feels the need vamp herself up – putting pressure on otherwise successful women to put sexy before smart.
Or as has been noted – the women are choosing to do it to themselves. Very sad.
