Now that’s a conflict of interest

John Tamihere got paid $55,000 to advise the NZ Government on issues around the Waipareira Trust and the National Urban Authority.

Now nothing wrong with that generally.  Tamihere would know a fair bit about both.

Except that during the period of the contract he was in Chief Executive of both bodies.

Can one imagine a greater conflict of interest?  Why does Te Puni Kokiri seem to operate with a different level of accountability to other agencies?
