A verdict before the inquiry

Well why bother with the inquiry, as Annette King has already declared that it was all just a case of forgetful memory and that this is not a hanging offence.

Let us be very clear about this.  Only three people knew that David Benson-Pope had indeed expressed an opinion to Hugh Logan that is Setchell wasn’t removed he would not be able to be free and frank with the Ministry.  They are DBP, Hugh Logan and Mark Prebble.

And we are expected to believe that all three of them simply forgot.   The only three people who knew, all had identical memory failure.

Hugh Logan somehow remembered to tell Prebble, but forgot to tell Rennie.

Benson-Pope forgot to tell anyone at all.

Mark Prebble actually wrote an article on the Setchell issue, and as he typed out the words declaring there had been no Ministerial involvement, he forgot that he knew there had been.

Hugh Logan who saw the article before it was printed, also forgot that he had had this conversation, and didn’t remind Dr Prebble again.

An inquiry reporting to Dr Prebble, about Dr Prebble, is totally inappropriate.  Especially as Annette King has already signalled the desired outcome.

There should be a judicial inquiry by a Judge with powers to take testimony under oath.
