I wonder if key became PM , how quickly he would ‘undiscover’ Utube.
Previous National PMs were very shy even from press conferences in their time.
Shipley NEVER had an open press conference where the types of questions werent pre vetted.
eg Alamein Kopu was never to be mentioned even though she had an office in the beehive inspite of not being in cabinet.
or maybe thats ONLY where key will appear solo on Utube, the rest of the time he will be chaperoned by Bill English ( untill they fall out and then it would be Gerry)

What’s interesting is the amount of moderation on John Key’s blog. For all Key’s talk about inviting NZers to ‘join the conversation’ he doesn’t allow much in the way of criticism. I’ve tried numerous times to post polite and constructive criticism on his site, and every time I’ve been blocked. One suspects Key’s invitation was a little hollow.

Your’e not the only one with that problem Tane as back scratching is welcome but no criticism on his blog .
When will these fragile politicians shed the cotton wool utopian bubble that they live under and join the real world ?

For the record: “polite and constructive” posts of any sort, provided they’re on topic, are always welcome.

Selam lies yet again. Shipley did hold press conferences with no restrictions on questions. What she did not do is hold a regular weekly one as Clark does. It is to Clark’s credit she does so and I hope the tradition continues.
Tane: I have seen many critical comments on Key’s site. Maybe it is the way you express the criticism? Anyway you are always welcome to criticise John here

Did find this from a search of the herald archives of Shipleys comments referring to polynesians.
“they climb in the windows of other New Zealanders at night … it’s not just Maori”
And then there was the time she said she “invented” the 1 million salary at TVNZ.

Anyone else notice the reference to Facelift (a dig at the Helen clip)?
