I also voted for Election Theft No.2 Bill.

Because lets face it’s quite apparent with the theft of Dr Brash’s emails, the rort of the tax payer, moles in the police, & moles in the media that it all adds up to corruption.

Only this time they’re trying to make ’some’ of it legal.

The best term so far used was “The Bill of Wrongs” it was not convoluted and made perfect sense. I would vote for that if it was there.

I use the name “Anti-Free Speech Bill’ on my blog. I have no idea why this name (unless it wasn’t nominated) didn’t make it to the top 9. All the names above are cool, except the “Labour party corruption validation Bill” which better describes the Validation Act than this.

I went for Criticism Prevention Bill.

I like ‘Free Speech (Abolition) Bill’, but it sounds almost like a positive thing if you don’t know what it’s about. Ditto ‘Freedom From Expression’ – too similar to ‘freedom of expression’ and people will mistake it for something positive.

roger nome – if you dislike the opinions expressed on Kiwiblog so much, why do you spend so many hours of the working day here, hijacking threads, slagging off anyone who expresses an anti-government opinion, and generally making an arse of yourself? Harry – I know one can get around cookies. But it is a free service and IP based blocking not available. Also as all the names are derogatory of the bill, there is little incentive for certain people to mass vote.

How are Labour lickspittle going to bombard this poll to demonstrate that that we have it all wrong and that really the right result (Electoral Finance Reform Bill) that everyone really does support is the correct answer.

Is anyone taking this up with the Herald? Will this desperate and corrupt government really see into Law this corruption of democracy. If they don’t (I back Winston to withdraw support) does that mean the Labour Government is finished and an election will need to be called? or will Labour desperately try and hang on in there until November 2008? (if elections don’t get cancelled in the national interest first?)

You are right. So the following procedures were necessary for our esteemed leader to avoid High Court action:

– The Validation Act had to legalise this unlawful expenditure – The EFB had to seemingly validate the Validation Act by pointing the finger at the EB for their alleged attempted high jacking of the last election. This gave the pollies a chance to present the preventiave measures proposed in this iniquitous Bill, to thwart any such dastardly attempts in the future.

The Bill in their eyes is justified.

Very, very unconvincing attempt. So what next do they have up their sleeves that is less destructive to themselves, to gain any credibility.

This is not a poll on whether people approve of the ERB. No-one does. Even those defending it know it is a piece of crap. They would be marching on the streets if National had introduced it.

It is a poll on picking the best name for opponents of the Bill to use. How hard is that to understand?

There was some debate on a previous post about Nicky Hagar’s comment about the EFB being similar to the type of legislation the Nazi’s would try.

If one substitutes Jews for EB’s, one can see he has a point. When you see the lenghts that Labour has gone in response to a religious minority with means, there are parellels. These may not be deliberate, in fact they probably aren’t.

But Roger, your suggestion “I would vote for the “free from EB Bill”.” is indicative of the thinking that has spawned this legislative peice of nastiness.

Krazy, I had the same problem. Go to tools – internet options – privacy and set your slider to accept all cookies and then change it back after you vote. Seemed to work for me.
