Nice try Chris

Oh one has to give Chris Trotter points for effort.  His SST column is mainly on Mike Moore, but the part that made me laugh was at the end:

There is much to be lost from such an eventuality. Though the further advance of Rogernomics has been halted by the election, and re-election, of this government, most of the worst aspects of the New Right revolution have continued unabated, and undetected.

But the Left’s detectives are on the case. Only this week, Auckland mayoral candidate Lisa Prager released the results of her inquiry into Auckland City Council spending on “consultants’ fees”, showing an astounding $91 million passing from the ratepayers to these profit-driven businesses over the past three years.

Similar massive transfers of public wealth into private hands are undoubtedly occurring all over the country.

The longer New Zealand enjoys a centre-left government, the greater the chance that citizens like Prager will garner enough support to eliminate these rorts and clean up the mess that Moore and his mates have made.

Chris should be the Pope given his faith in having a centre-left Government solves all problems, except oh yeahyou know all the ones he complains about.

Let’s be very clear here.  The $91 million on consultants has occurred under  a centre-left Auckland City Council.  It has happened during the time a centre-left Government was in office.  But Trotter’s solution is more of the same!!

I will also point out that the reason Prager was able to discover that info, is thanks to a law passed by National in 1982.
