interesting development on interview in close up. am I wrong our did brian proclaim he is a prohept? there is lots of text written about a person claiming to be a prohept. fyi they tested the last prohept muhammad . maybe if they applied the same critera of testing to brian I think that there would be a lot of questions answered…..

I have known Brian Tamaki and Richard Lewis since the days when i lived in Tokoroa which is he place where i got to know Richard Lewis and his family a bit better. His dad whom is Dick Lewis is an ex police officer, his mum Elizabeth use to come and do bible in schools in Tokoroa. I attended the same church as Richard and Nigel his brother at the Tokoroa Apostolic Church. Yes and i had watched as Richard became a police officer as what his father use to be. However despite my days of reminese i dont think Richard Lewis is been himself when i hear him talking and playing the part as side kick to Brian Tamaki. These people Brian Tamaki, Richard Lewis and Kaumatua Manuel Renata all have known each other for donkeys years going from church to church with each other and eventually ending up in Auckland to form Destiny Church although it originally started in Rotorua. These guys have been scratching each others backs for years on end and my testimony of these guys is worthy to be trusted.

Brian Tamaki better hope that Destiny Church really does ending ruling the nation of new zealand in the time that was mentioned especially with the encouragement of Americas Eddie Long and his reaffirmation of Brians prophecy. For the simple fact that if it doesnt come to pass then he is going to make himself, Destiny church and the Christians look like fools for making such a prediction without any realization or substance to bring it fully into reality.

Therein lies the rub. We would all like to live in a mythical past and that is why this new party will garner suppport. I too share your sentiments, but fear there is a thin line between evangalism and bigotry. I say this not to shock or because it is ‘cool’ to so so, but because it is often true.

Yep, I’m for NZ regressing to the ‘mores’ of an era of fewer murders, fewer marriage breakups, fewer drug addicts, fewer burglaries, more politeness, more integrity, more faithfulness etc.

Yes, National is becoming more and more ‘pink’, even as Labour becomes more communistic.

Evangelical Christians are not moving right and becoming more extremist – heck even most of my Christian buddies are no longer teetotallers.
It’s the movement of the others to the left (liberal not economic left) which makes the difference more apparent.

I think they will be financed by shed-loads of US evangelical right-wing cash to promote ‘Family-values’ (ie, anti-gay, anti-sex before marriage, anti-abortion, anti-non Christian religion and culture, anti-progressiveness, such as Green issues, and anti-socialism such as Labour throw in a bit of anti-drugs (all drugs))
They will make the far right of the National party look like pinkoes.
They will smile to your face, act like the acceptible face of far-right US bigotry and use their influence to promote a paternalistic, retrogressive legislation in the House. Every one who was for the Anti-smacking Bill, or legalisation of prostitution, or lowering of the drinking age, or might be for the decriminalisation of marijuana will find a natural enemy in this lot. Brian Tamaki is the worst kind of bigot. He does it because “God” is on his side. Personally I don’t trust this kind of mixing religion with politics. Especially when you will get a lying cheating exploiter like Field back into a cushy littel high-salaried seat in parliament. Previous systems have taken great pains to keep church and state separate.

I have no interest in middle eastern superstition and do not seek to defend it however I must say that you are beginning to sound like Comrade Klark and the Greens when you talk about a religious movement you disagree with.

If people are dumb enough to follow Tamaki then that is their right, either way they do not deserve to be pilloried for that by you or anybody else.

Not too many questions why the Bishop is doing this.

Is it because Destiny has tanked? Hardly, he’s only been in the political game five minutes and pulled 10 times the support of the Libz.

Is he trying to separate Church from politics? Uhuh, people can now vote either Destiny or a wider based family type party(s). He may have identified that there’s resistance to too close an identification with his brand of religion.

Is he broadening the political horizon? Again yes, he’s bringing some political muscle, money and a lot of energy to the arena and making it less identifiable to Helen and co.

I have no doubt he’s clever and can think on his feet.

Destiny Church has been scoffed at by many, including “mainline” churches but have they changed the lives for good of as many as Destiny has? I was sceptical about Destiny once but their programs in action are persuasive. To attribute evil to those do good itself comes out of evil. Would you rather have the gang members on the streets?

Tithing is biblical; those who do so, know the blessings it brings. Those who do not know Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour cannot understand these things anyway, and they will appear foolish to them.

Expect greater surprises yet from these people who are mocked.
