DPF still powerless

My laptop is still without power and likely to be so until Monday at the earliest. Sigh.
A big thumbs up to ProSouth who e-mailed me last night after seeing my problem on the blog and arranged for me to come in and see them before their business normally opened today. Now that’s great pro-active service! Sadly the exact cord needed they had just sold out of, and despite their superb efforts trying half a dozen diffferent places for me, there is no HP laptop cord anywhere in Dunedin it seems.
They then arranged the NZ distributor to courier a new one to me at Wellington tomorrow, but now they have had a delay and I won’t get it until next week. Wouldn’t be such a problem if I was at home, as I have spare PCs (and spare laptops!) there.
So once again blogging will be very infrequent.
Had a pleasant evening tonight. I caught up with Roger Gnome at the good old Captain Cook and had some beer and nachos. We were then joined by Luke of the Young Greens and by coincidence Bryce Edwards was there also so ended up a nice wee group. The Cook was a lot less crowded than in my day!
Spent the morning in Dunedin, and had a quick trip to and back from Oamaru in the afternoon. Due to being off e-mail the phones were going non stop and it was almost comical as I was literally having to place one phone down to answer another phone and swap between them, all while travelling along SH1.
Anyway has been a nice few days in the South – back to Wellington tomorrow. Won’t be very bloody relaxing though as I have a s**t load of e-mails to wade through when reconnected.

DPF still powerless….and likely to be through until 2011 by the looks of the recent opinion poll.
John Key on the 9th floor?……don’t get me wrong, nice chap, just a little unconvincing.

“The Cook was a lot less crowded than in my day!

Oh meant to add….Three Bears is the place to go if you want to pick up drunk first years these days – or just add to your photo gallery.
Later in the evening the Vatican.

read that headine and thought i was looking at Kiwiblogblog for a second.

What was that whooshing sound
David heading for the Three bears camera in hand
October 26th, 2007 at 10:26 pm
Cheers David – good to finally meet the man behind kiwiblog. I do worry that making bitchy anti-national/farrar comments here won’t be quite the same now though. Having said that, I’m sure that a good close election campaign will take care of any softness that may have resulted from socialising with the enemy
October 26th, 2007 at 11:04 pm
Crawling to the enemy again…!! As if giving your blog over to them and their endless lies and propaganda isn’t quite enough. Such PC motivated confusion, this delusion that the left deserve to be treated as decent people, is the main reason why the right in NZ, if you can call them that, are up shit creek without a paddle.
Nome and his friends want to steal your income from from you, they want to enslave you, they want to take away your rights, they want to confiscate your property, they want to eliminate the political views you hold from the political spectrum, and they want to regulate you until you are nothing but an ant on a barren socialist ant hill, working for the collective good in a spiritual and moral vacuum where only death will bring relief.
I wouldn’t be seen dead drinking a beer with such ideologically and morally corrupt filthy anti-human totalitarian scum. Haven’t you seen what they have been writing about you on other blogs? Haven’t you any damn pride at all??
October 26th, 2007 at 11:37 pm
“Such PC motivated confusion, this delusion that the left deserve to be treated as decent people”
That’s just the thing Redbaiter – A key difference between people like david and you, as I see it, is that David is willing to look at people with a bit of humanity, whereas your posts are marked by a distinct lack of humanity. To you someone who happens to have left-wing politics isn’t a person, they’re a “leftist” or a “socialist” – they’re a thing rather than a sentient being. For this reason I’m damn glad that you’ll never be anywhere near the reigns of power in this country.
October 26th, 2007 at 11:51 pm
The jackboot of authoritarian capitalism is little different to the jackboot of any other dictatorship. Then government is handed over to the free market capitalist who use the police to crush any terrorism/dissent/opposition, whereas other tyrannies rule in their own name and simply make dissent/opposition itself illegal.
Some on the left can accept that some on the right are as much checks on this as they are themselves. This is why our civil liberites, human rights centred liberal democracy is hated by all tyrannies – because they have to divide us against each other to win totalitarian power over us.
October 26th, 2007 at 11:51 pm
“For this reason I’m damn glad”
I don’t give a damn whether you’re glad or not glad you contemptible commie narcissist. Your opinions and thoughts on Redbaiter or on any subject are of no interest to me whatsoever.
Given that this blog nowadays seems to be a place devoted to allowing scum like you to endlessly advocate for your poisonous anti-human ideas, its a good place to stay away from, and I urge other rightists who are sick to death of the boring monotonous never ending socialist crap posted by Nome and his subversive crew to take their patronage elsewhere too.
October 27th, 2007 at 12:03 am
You’re referring to yourself in the third person now? Red, dude, you’ve got issues.
October 27th, 2007 at 12:04 am
David
Wny don’t you go down to your friendly local computer store, a Dick Smith’s or whatever and get yourself a travel power adapter (like a Targus). You can also use it on planes etc. They come wth a zillion different tips and is bound to fit your laptop.

No baiter, please don’t go. What without the D4J-Redbaiter “brains trust” where will I go for a laugh?
October 27th, 2007 at 12:17 am
“Nome and his friends want to steal your income from from you, they want to enslave you, they want to take away your rights, they want to confiscate your property, they want to eliminate the political views you hold from the political spectrum, and they want to regulate you until you are nothing but an ant on a barren socialist ant hill, working for the collective good in a spiritual and moral vacuum where only death will bring relief. ”
All right, who leaked Labour’s secret manifesto to abolish the family after the 2008 election and have all women held in common?
October 27th, 2007 at 12:30 am
Phillip John/Roger Nome:
Do tell us how you coped. Was it difficult for you to hold your own in a conversation with DPF – without quoting Wikipedia, or mentioning peak oil and the Exclusive Brethren?
October 27th, 2007 at 12:50 am
POC:
Why? Maybe you should get out and do some of your own socialising? That way you wouldn’t have to live vicariously through mine.
October 27th, 2007 at 1:16 am
Ah, but you see Phillip John, I’m not the one who keeps running down DPF on his blog.
October 27th, 2007 at 1:34 am
Evidently he doesn’t take the stick I give him as personally as you do – he did ask me if I wanted to meet up after all. You’re not jealous are you POC? I mean, it would be a rather petty and tragic.
October 27th, 2007 at 1:47 am
Phillip John:
Playing the jealousy card already? I meet people from all walks of life (including DPF, as it happens, though some time ago now). But then again with David Benson-Pope in town, you probably meet an interesting crowd too.
October 27th, 2007 at 1:51 am
The Cook has gone downhill fast since the good old days. It is far too fancy for students…. give me Gardies any day.
If David met with Panty Slut Boy, that would be an interesting session! I can imagine the conversation already.
October 27th, 2007 at 2:05 am
Clint:
Ok, step back from the thread with your hands in the air – what kind of session do you mean exactly?
October 27th, 2007 at 7:10 am

Neither would I. Spot on.

Hell, I’m surprised the terrorists family would want to leave low taxed Malaysia for NZ.
However Sam, what’s really weak is your undying and frankly embarrassing devotion to Labour.
October 27th, 2007 at 11:00 am
Good job RogerNome and David. I’ve got several avid articulate socialist friends here and in NZ and we always enjoy vigorous but good natured debating. Having grown up in a leftist academic family and being a Labour supporter/activist for years before becoming a consrevative, I’m pretty familiar with the left’s talking points so that always adds umph to the debate.
I believe that when you meet your opponents face to face both sides tend to more civility. This is not to sell out your beliefs but merely to uphold the finest traditions of democracy – that of freedom of expression and informed debate. I find in such face to face discussions that the ideological differences that divide us become a little less defined and that, on many issues, there is common ground. I find each side more willing to concede the points on which their team is weak and to concede what strengths the opposition may have.
One of the most enjoyable nights I had was two hours talking to Tim Barnett the gay Labour MP. We canvassed all the tricky areas of Civil Unions, drug liberalisation and homosexual lifestyles always with mutual respect. To this day if I meet Tim in an airport or public function, it is always nice to catch up even though we differ on almost every issue imaginable.
October 27th, 2007 at 12:02 pm
I caught up with Roger Gnome-DPF
Is he short?
October 27th, 2007 at 1:20 pm
“Good job RogerNome and David. I’ve got several avid articulate socialist friends here and in NZ and we always enjoy vigorous but good natured debating.”
Thanks KIA – it’s nice to see one of David’s right-leaning readers not treating him like a “cheating girlfriend” for meeting up with someone on the left. It was getting all a little too creepy there for a while.
October 27th, 2007 at 4:34 pm
“It was getting all a little too creepy there for a while.”
You’re the creep Nome. The comments you made relating to the series of photos Mr. Farrar posted on the Young Nat’s Forum (or whatever), and which you tried to pass off as “jokes” were examples of the most disgusting yellow backed cowardice and bigotry I’ve seen on this site.
You may have some of the right here bluffed with your PC driven claims that to be “reasonable”, one must engage in dialogue with the totalitarian left. Not me. I don’t buy into that long time loser type crap. Nor do I buy into the trendy socialist crapola that some weak wittering pseudo-apology makes everything OK. My view is that if you’re civilized, you don’t behave that way in the first place.
There are lines, and decent people do not cross them ever.
…and I don’t care what wet gutless knee jerk loser PC liberals and pseudo-rightists say I should be doing, I’ll do what I know is right. Granting unprincipled totalitarian socialist scum like you one skerrick of credibility is always going to be a big mistake. The sooner you and your kind are universally recognised as the guttersnipes you are, the sooner society will start on the long road back to civilization.
October 27th, 2007 at 4:43 pm
Phillip John:
Oh get over yourself with these silly “cheating girlfriend” and jealousy references.
Ok so you finally got to “meet the man behind kiwiblog”. Well done. We’re all so pleased for you. Will you still be regularly accusing DPF of “deliberately misleading” his readers and otherwise attacking his professional credibility – both of which you’ve done many times – or has Phillip John finally grown up?
October 27th, 2007 at 6:43 pm
Redbaiter:
I took a look at the thread you mentioned (http://www.kiwiblog.co.nz/2007/10/young_nats_bonding.html).
Phillip John – are you proud of this contribution:
And this one:
That’s pretty sick stuff.
October 27th, 2007 at 7:42 pm
Yeah, creepy, but not actually the thread I was trying to refer to. There was worse than this on the post with pictures of some National women about a month or so ago. (Can’t remember the title, I thought it was something to do with young Nats but maybe just some National Party function.) Whatever, the Nome’s comments were just so gross, and showed what an absolute mental cripple and witless coward he really is.
October 27th, 2007 at 8:54 pm
Fuck, now we have to support the terrorist’s family as well as him. Judging by his appetite for legal aid, he has pretty expensive tastes. No chance now of a tax cut from any Govt.
October 27th, 2007 at 9:46 pm
DPF:
This isn’t the right thread, but just out of interest, where are things at with your court summons (in relation to the Shane Wenzel proceedings)? Were you excused from attendance? And were you still required to deliver up the summonsed information?
Hopefully it’s ok to ask.
October 27th, 2007 at 10:39 pm
Yeah,
wonder if DPF and Roger discussed this bigoted rant from.

Oh really? Shit, well my sweety has an IQ of 130-140! So I guess you could say that she’s a “smart intelligent” person, and beautiful to boot (IMHO). Yet she’s not married to a decrepit robber baron, and prefers people to talk to her face when at social events. Go figure hey?

October 27th, 2007 at 11:53 pm
I thought you had passed on to pastures blue, Baiter.
Glad to see the moderator demerits is working well. I thought there were demerits for unwarranted personal abuse. Highly inflammatory and abusive posting is supposed to attract demerits. If the following little gems don’t constitute highly inflammatory commentary, then I don’t know what would:
ideologically and morally corrupt filthy anti-human totalitarian scum
contemptible commie narcissist
You’re the creep Nome
unprincipled totalitarian socialist scum like you
The sooner you and your kind are universally recognised as the guttersnipes you are, the sooner society will start on the long road back to civilization
October 28th, 2007 at 1:30 am
“If the following little gems don’t constitute highly inflammatory commentary”
How typical that the dim bulb PC socialists, who are free to consistently post the most vile anti-human propaganda here, that is designed to promote the most disgusting and poisonous ideology, run whining to the blue caps at the slightest perceived contravention of subjective and contrived “rules” about “offensive” language.
Rules that so typify the left’s success in socially intimidating the opposition. Rules that are yet another illustration of how the hapless and spineless right has, by their suffering of the unremitting application of the psychology of political correctness from the left, been bullied and conned and badgered into pandering to so many of the key concepts of socialism.
Like an endless hail storm, the left have rained down for decades now, viciously and ceaselessly pummeling everything that might stand in the way of their totalitarian objectives with the full force of their all powerful all conquering soviet style propaganda machine, (with freedom of expression being the biggest casualty).
Under such an unceasing onslaught, one can almost understand the right’s abject surrender. But really, do they have to remain so lame and limp today, when the intimidatory strategy of the left, that stinking deceit of political correctness, that deliberate and deceptive entwining of leftist ideology and NZ culture, has been exposed so clearly for the poisonous and destructive event it really is?
Y’know Duck, what I have written about Nome and leftists in general is actually only balance to the sanctimonious patronising smug superior tone that accompanies most messages that the left post on this site.
So full of themselves, so condescending, so self righteous. And always, the attacks on freedom. Freedom of expression. Freedom to generate wealth. Freedom to plan and work for the benefit of one’s family. Freedom to pursue self interest. Freedom of choice. Freedom to think and speak outside the “guidelines” so strictly specified by the totalitarian left. All of these freedoms are attacked every time one of your lot posts here. ..and you reckon that’s not “inflammatory”???
Whine away you contemptible self important hypocrite. Run squealing to the “moderators” on your fat little commie legs. Reminding you self confessed ivory tower “elitists” of how you are regarded in the real world is actually a public service that should, if there was ever any real justice, and if the spineless right were ever to get their act together and launch a real offensive against the left’s political and social domination, earn Redbaiter an award rather than censure.
October 28th, 2007 at 1:52 pm
Is this really the best you clowns can do? Dig up some over the top quotes from a thread many moon’s old – before moderation was in place? The words tragic, sad, pathetic and desperate come to mind.
Oh and nice long winded, hyper-paranoid/McCarthiest teeth gnashing rant there – a redbaiter classic for sure.
October 28th, 2007 at 5:40 pm
Phillip John:
Well I never… you mean to say you’re not really a nice guy without moderation in place?
Oh, and those “over the top quotes from a thread many moon’s old” – aren’t they what you said? It’s interesting that you can’t bring yourself to defend – or retract – your words.
October 29th, 2007 at 7:56 am
Gee, amazing really that a girl with an IQ of 140 finds any common ground with such a knuckle dragging neanderthal. The issue Nome is not what you said at any given time and whether it was before or after moderation. The issue is Mr. Farrar’s misguided tolerance in being willing to have a beer with someone who would say such disgusting things about his friends and acquaintances, and how, when looked at from a broader perspective, such indulgence, such blurring of the lines between good and bad and right and wrong, is a core reason that the left have been winning the political battle in NZ for a decade or two.
If you’re as intelligent as you think you are, how come you apparently can’t see what’s really being discussed here??
For god’s sake, it amazes me that a species so stupid as the left could rise to such astonishing social ascendancy in any country. That such an event has occurred so completely and continued for so long in NZ must surely reflect upon the abject ineffectiveness of the right as a political force in this country.
When are the right ever going to snap out of their abject compulsion to seek the social approval of the left? I suffer no desire to be liked by those who would enslave me, and steal from me, and indoctrinate children with their contemptible ideology.
Any day, I ‘d much rather be shunned by such people than join in their mindless collective, and drink their poisonous brew of moral relativity, and chatter mindlessly about just how much more freedom should be incrementally surrendered to their great god of government. Its a party I’m sure you can enjoy without Redbaiter’s presence, and I’m not going to be broken hearted over my non invitation to such a gathering. Lemmings have never really been my kind of animal.
October 29th, 2007 at 10:20 am
maybe it’s a bit like a rugby game – what goes on on the field stays on the field….
October 29th, 2007 at 12:07 pm
POC-
“Oh, and those “over the top quotes from a thread many moon’s old” – aren’t they what you said? It’s interesting that you can’t bring yourself to defend – or retract – your words.”
I said they were over the top – sometimes you say inappropriate things when you’re in such an abusive environment. This is not an excuse, only a reason. Really though – it was mild compared to what many on the right do here. In fact this shows that your pontificating and moralising is more than a little selective and expedient – it therefore has a rather hollow ring to it.
Rabidbleater:
“The issue is Mr. Farrar’s misguided tolerance in being willing to have a beer with someone who would say such disgusting things about his friends and acquaintances”
As usual redbaiter, you fail to sense the hypocrisy in your faux outrage. You, being the most abusive of trolls this side of D4J.
October 29th, 2007 at 1:31 pm
“As usual redbaiter, “
As usual Nome, all *you* have in response is off topic infantile blather. What the hell have your daft perceptions about Redbaiter’s hypocrisy got to do with any issue under discussion here?? What an astonishingly dimwitted knuckle dragger you are , in that even the most simple argument apparently goes so far over your head it risks being attracted by the moon’s field of gravity. What an impediment you and your weak interminable rubbish are to any kind of real discussion on this site.
[Richard (moderator): Warning issued on abuse of a person. Please argue the point not the person. No demerits, but please desist.]
October 29th, 2007 at 4:40 pm
“Warning issued on abuse of a person.”
Really? Apparently Nome’s reference to Redbaiter as a hypocrite escaped you. But then leftists can say what they want right, and it would be just too confrontational to reprimand any of them wouldn’t it Dicky dahling????
…and no demerits? Well why would there be?? You’ve already over penalised me according to your own damn criteria.
Just let those leftists keep pulling your strings Dicky. Wouldn’t want to offend such wonderfully decent examples of humanity would we?? Wouldn’t want to transgress in respect of any of the silly Marxist social codes that brainwashed NZers who can’t tell the difference between leftism and their traditional culture fall over themselves to subscribe to would we? Blah…!! How unbelievably pathetic..!! Time I think for the kind of language I seldom use.
Fuck you you snot nosed self important bigoted little faggot [removed by moderator].
There, mark down some demerit points for that you insufferably pompous little twerp. You’re sure to get the adoration from the left you’re so desperately begging for.
[Richard (moderator): 20 Demerit points for abuse and swearing]
October 29th, 2007 at 7:04 pm
oh dear.
October 29th, 2007 at 9:31 pm
Christ Red, I can’t believe you got away with only 20 demerits for that! I would have thought that such an attack on a moderator, who is after all doing moderation on behalf of DPF, was little different to an attack on DPF himself, and, as you know, I’m not a big fan of moderation.
October 30th, 2007 at 11:50 am
“Christ Red, I can’t believe you got away with only 20 demerits for that!”
Maybe the officious little twerp feels some small degree of guilt for singling out Redbaiter for his patronising reprimands yet allowing left wing idiots like Nome to post completely off topic insults (as he did in his post at 12:07) and remain completely free of criticism. I doubt it tho. As I said, it seems he’s seriously afflicted by the compulsion to ingratiate himself with the left rather than aim for objectivity. ..and once again, I highlight this as the problem with the so called right in NZ politics, in that they are too brainwashed and too supplicant to leftist initiated social mores to take a real stand against socialism.
This country needs many more like Redbaiter, and a lot less like cute little Ricky (you can see from his photo how desperate he is to be liked) if its ever to break free of its downward spiral into the spiritless abyss of leftism.
PS- he might also be acknowledging the fact that they over penalised me in the first place, but hell, even talking about this is such a piss off.
I can’t believe I’m bothering myself with something so fucken infantile. Other than its symptomatic of why this country is so fucked, and with leftist political attitudes so deeply ingrained into its culture, and fuckwits like Nome about in such overpowering numbers, it becomes more plain every day why bottoming out is really the only thing that’s ever going to bring any real change. Like most people with more intelligence than a flatfish, I’m just thankful I won’t be around for the experience.
October 30th, 2007 at 12:11 pm
I think the moderation system should be adjusted, so that you can get merits for particularly creative and entertaining invective. That is, after all, a political art form.
Redbaiters invective often falls into this camp. And I enjoy it immensely. Not the swearing though – that’s a distraction.
October 30th, 2007 at 1:38 pm
Redbaiter:
You’re nothing but a raving lunatic. You never say anything of substance, and you never further the debate in any meaningful way. Conclusion – you’re a complete waste of space, and it’s a wonder that your demented, hate-fulled internet persona has lasted this long on kiwiblog. Perhaps you should get out more and express yourself in the real world a bit more (I am told that in person you’re actually quite reserved, even stultified), that way you wouldn’t have to fill the blogsphere with your comical lunacy.
October 30th, 2007 at 2:08 pm
“I think the moderation system should be adjusted, so that you can get merits for particularly creative and entertaining invective.”
naa, it’s already too complicated and not strictly enforced, rogers comment above should have collected at least 20 points and possibly 50 as I read the rules. I wouldn’t mind a comment of the week though, along the lines of Danny Watson’s call of the week.
October 30th, 2007 at 2:57 pm
Phillip John/Roger Nome:
Goodness – how this thread has progressed. I’m pleased you’ve (finally) acknowledged that your original comments were over-the-top.
You also imply some familiarity with Redbaiter’s identity. Are you aware that D4J (apparently) has you in his sights? I’ve checked out his blog today, after a period of absence, and you seem to be a star feature in his comments section.
October 30th, 2007 at 3:45 pm
POC:
D4J is a frail sexagenarian, so yeah, I’m shaking in my boots. I probably should lay off him though, it really isn’t fair sport – he can be a lot of fun though.
“You also imply some familiarity with Redbaiter’s identity.”
Not really – just hearsay, all be it from a rather reliable source. I’m not really too interested in him, although it was weird to learn that he purportedly has quite a demure and reserved personality in real life – a kind of Jekyll and Hyde split personality apparently.
October 30th, 2007 at 4:20 pm
Once again readers, the left, as personified here by fuckwit Nome, is apparently free to post all the “offensive” stuff they like. Its open season on the right in NZ you see. Always has been. ..and then we get pinged by officious little do gooders like Ricky dahling if we take a stand. What a basket case outfit.
