Would it be ok if I used my spare 20 minutes to do something more rewarding than listen to Mathew Hooton?

I’m sure we can all think of something better than that to do, eh readers?

  2. Kevin (264) Says:

Yep, march on Saturday Aucklanders, Aotea Square, 10 am, its on! Spread the word.

  3. Zutroy Abadolov (80) Says:

Yeah Sonic, there are off topic flame wars to be had here on Kiwiblog.

  4. Monty (814) Says:

It is excellent – I listened this moring – and have emailed the link to a few friends – recommending that they listen to this independant commentator.

As I said earlier – Clark’s worst nightmare is happening – the EFB is becoming a mainstream issue.

  5. Buggerlugs (1,609) Says:

It appears thestandard has gone down…surely the poor pinkos haven’t forgotten to pay their wordpress bill? go and shake the tin for them sonic, would you? or steal some money out of the Socialist Worker poor box, whatever you normally do…

  6. Lindsay Addie (989) Says:

    More comment from Michael Bott:

Couldn’t help but notice Hosking defending this piece of shit legislation.

    and Barry Soper here:
    http://www.newstalkzb.co.nz/podcasts/audio/12073207.mp3
Who seems to think there will be a voter backlash.

  7. Inventory2 (7,223) Says:

Sonic! Where’ve you been boy? I see the last of the Tuhoe 17 got bailed today, or is that just a coincidence in my warped mind?

  8. Tane (1,096) Says:

Never fear, Buggerlugs – we’re back up! Not sure what went wrong there…

  9. Bevan (3,661) Says:

It appears thestandard has gone down…

Maybe someone finally uploaded the About page and it crashed the server…..

  10. gd (2,286) Says:

Just in 81% of the first 1700 who responded to the Herald poll said NZ is less free than it was. Methinks the Socialists are all over Rover and looking at a very long time in the wilderness.

The citizens have awoke from their slumber and like the cats of the jungle when angered are but a fearsome sight.

Little Helen and Mikey should be very afraid

  11. TBR1 (2) Says:

Yes heard them on ‘from the left and the rabid left’ on RLW this AM. Dear old Mathew managed to get the odd word to bubble up above the unrelenting verbal torrent delivered by Harre. The hopeless bint that presented the program of course did her bit to keep Harre’s rantings rolling out. Mat did manage to get the odd point made but as per usual his points were generally lost in the verbal avalaunche delivered by the mad eyed marxist. Mat must grow some balls and take some control – tell the clutz to take a breath ocassionally – he would have been lucky to have achieved 20% of the slot time. Better yet he should relegate the job to someone genuinely from the other end of the spectrum who won’t spend their time greasing the gastly greens, etc.

  12. hinamanu (1,559) Says:

:) Little Helen and Mikey should be very afraid :)

  13. Kevin (264) Says:

Why do the tiny minority of people like Tane, sonic and their ilk hate us wanting to see our kids and grandkids grow up in a real country?

Protest march Saturday 17th starting at 10am from Auckland Town Hall down Queen St to Britomart.

  14. Linda Reid (310) Says:

    See you on Saturday Kevin.

  15. sonic (2,818) Says:

Good luck with the march comrades!

Always nice to see the Tories copying our tactics.

Look foward to seeing you all there.

    ;)

    S

  16. Brownie Says:

Geez, you reds are on a hiding to nothing when even Laila Harre is criticising the EFB and Approp. Bill

  17. gd (2,286) Says:

Sonic old bean The difference between we Tories and you Socialists is that our protest march will be done with style Dignified and with decorum. Not like the rentamob that we have seen so often from you Socialists.

Hope you come and see how a protest march should be conducted

  18. AGJ (490) Says:

Did you get finally get bail Sonic?

  19. cubit9f (296) Says:

    gd,

I bet Rentamob will turn up anyway. Any protest is good for a day out. They will be noisy and full of envy that they couldn’t organise something as well.

    Sonic,

Where have you been? There are a lot of people worried about you. I hope it wasn’t you who got swiped by the megaphone at the Labour conference. If it was I am very sorry that you had to become a target from a staunch party supporter.

  20. AGJ (490) Says:

    damn no edit button

  21. Inventory2 (7,223) Says:

gd said “Just in 81% of the first 1700 who responded to the Herald poll said NZ is less free than it was. Methinks the Socialists are all over Rover and looking at a very long time in the wilderness.”

The left are up to their poll-rigging tricks again gd – it’s now 64% “No” responses – that means that since you commented on it, pretty much the only votes that have been cast are ones against the Herald’s proposition! The left has been caught out so oftern riggin polls, you’d wonder why they’d bother anymore! The actual figures at the moment are 1773 (36%) Yes (The question is “Is New Zealand becoming a less free and democratic country?”) and 3088 (64%) No.

  22. gd (2,286) Says:

cubit9f Yes In fact my better half is worried about me attending She says that given I cant help myself I will be on the end of a swinging megaphone from one of the Socialist supporters .

I have a cunning plan Motorbike helmet just like the good old Springbok tour days. Only its not the Police I have to protect myself from.

I2 not surprised Bet H2 was on to the troops first thing to get then pumping the poll. Typical Socialists Cant shit without instructions from on high

  23. Inventory2 (7,223) Says:

gd – contrasts strongly with this story on the Herald’s website:

“Public back call to scrap election law
    2:25PM Monday November 12, 2007

Public opinion has swung behind the Herald’s call for the Electoral Finance Bill to be scrapped.

Hundreds of people have joined the debate on nzherald.co.nz’s Your Views forum, with the vast majority agreeing the legislation is an attack on democracy.

Readers contacting the Herald newsdesk have also been almost unanimously in support of a front page editorial today which said: “democracy is not a device to keep the Labour Party in power”.

The campaign has also won the support today of National leader John Key, who reiterated a pledge to scrap the law if his party leads the next Government, and New Zealand Broadcasting School lecturer Paul Norris.

Mr Norris said it was common for overseas newspapers to run editorials on their front page and he believed the Herald was seeking to awaken the public on what it considers to be a very important issue.”

  24. PaulL (4,409) Says:

Inventory2, the real question is why anybody would bother running a poll that can be so easily rigged. Maybe the Herald will this time be keen to publicise where all those votes came from, and who scammed it?

  25. Inventory2 (7,223) Says:

gd said “I have a cunning plan Motorbike helmet just like the good old Springbok tour days. Only its not the Police I have to protect myself from.”

Yep mate – watch out for Unionists brandishing megaphones!

  26. hinamanu (1,559) Says:

“Methinks the Socialists are all over Rover and looking at a very long time in the wilderness.”

    This is probably the case.

But John Key is bit of a fox. He shook hands with Helen over repealing section 59 without his party’s input saying later he will repeal it if it doesn’t work out.

Time will tell, but in all honesty, this country has no alternative what so ever if it wishes to retain a free state then to vote National.

For the first time in its history NZ has no choice but to have a National govt in 2009.

  27. sonic (2,818) Says:

Guys, been busy with family issues, and will be again soon.

Ok If I leave it there?

    Thanx

  28. Inventory2 (7,223) Says:

Cheers Sonic – you picked a good day to make your return lol

  29. Lee C (4,120) Says:

Good old sonic can always rely on him to step up and take the bullet in Tane, gnome and Dixon’s place.

Good to see you back sonic – the dark side beckons. :0(

  30. sonic (2,818) Says:

Nice to see you as well Lee!

  31. PhilBest (5,022) Says:

I agree with Hooton. You ain’t seen nothing yet when it comes to Our Dear Leader trying to keep the reins of power. Hooton’s comments should go in every letterbox in the country. Kiwis should take to the streets. Is there a protest planned for Wellington as well as Auckland?

  32. Right of way is Way of Right (996) Says:

WB Sonic, always nice to lock horns and all that! That’s one of the democratic freedoms we all enjoy, at the moment.

Hope the family issues are not too serious, and all sorts itself out, whatever it is!

  33. PhilBest (5,022) Says:

Still listening to this. Harre might as well be a spokesman for Putin or Chavez. Barf.

  34. Buggerlugs (1,609) Says:

Harre IS a spokesman (read apologist) for Putin and Chavez.

  35. Inventory2 (7,223) Says:

And not a very convincing spokesPERSON either!

  36. Inventory2 (7,223) Says:

Interesting – the Herald has pulled its poll “Is New Zealand becoming a less free and democratic country?” – the one that went from 80/20 to 30/70 in the space of an hour so. Have the vote-riggers been caught out again? Will the trail lead back to the 9th Floor?

  37. slightlyrighty (2,111) Says:

When Labour won the 05 election, with the assistance of the theft of $800k, I did wonder aloud how far would labour go to remain in power.

    Sadly, I have an answer.

  38. Buggerlugs (1,609) Says:

At one time, though, there was a straw poll in the office as to which MP you’d shag. Harre came top, followed by Deborah Coddington. Guess there’s no accounting for taste.

  39. Inventory2 (7,223) Says:

Could have been worse Buggerlugs – the highest polling might have been Marion Hobbs, Jill Pettis or even Dear Leader herself – quick, pass my a bucket – bleeeeeeeeeeeeech!!!!!!

  40. PaulL (4,409) Says:

I always thought Harre was shaggable. If you didn’t talk to her.

  41. Tauhei Notts (1,016) Says:

And the way she spoke out of the corner of her mouth gave me lurid thoughts about what she could do with that mouth.

  42. vto (986) Says:

hey mr tauhei notts, remember that post last week where i described our local coast pub and the nasty lampooning of clark etc on the notice board? Well, it’s still there in all its glory. The clippings are getting a bit tattered but they all laughed like the devil when I quizzed them about it.

and d4j, if you’re out there, the last ‘bait haul was …. (shhhhh! always a secret). But it was crappy really. just a few for the odd feed. ha ha.

apologies for the off topic binge.

  43. Lindsay Addie (989) Says:

Re polls http://nz.yahoo.com/ has a poll on this too, a moment ago the results were 4617 (74%) agreed the NZ democracy is under threat, 1653 (26%) disagreed.

  44. Kevin (264) Says:

If we copied your side sonic we’d ban protests. Oh and fireworks and smacking and free speech…

gd, in style, I think champaign would be good but is banned in britomart because the nambys would rather ban it than deal with the problem drinking of youth…sound familiar? Still, I’ll take a bottle and see how we go eh?
