In less than 1 week Cunliffe has raised the bar in respect to Ministerial responsibility. In doing so, and in the space of one sentence, he has painted himself into a corner. Having stated that he is running the show, he has opened himself up to being the fall guy in a portfolio that can only be a political minefeild.

I don’t think he was wrong to say “I’m running the show”, in the sense that many have said it’ll come back to bite him. He is Minister, he is ultimately responsible. All Ministers are. I’m glad he’s facing up to it. A Minister who avoids making the call that he’s in charge would be a coward.

i think we take along deep breath and start thinking about a winning strategy for the 2011 election,
The 2008 one is probably lost .
The Labour party have outmaneuvered us in the election spending stakes and the current front bench who are looking tired, and the leader inexperienced.
The ghost of Hager will loom large over the 2008 election There is no escaping that the previous leader Dr Brash although taking us to within a whisker of winning was forced to leave because he was caught lying. A very sorry state of affairs
Sorry to sound pessimistic.
We need to work on fostering links with other parties, get a credible online presence , and be honest about who we are and what we stand for.

After visting his train wreck of a site he would appear to have unnatural preoccupation with Clarke( there are twenty or thirty jpgs of her there)

The kill the Bill site is an embarrassment and if the National party are going to be seen as a credible alternative Government, it has to distance itself from losers like that.
The left are winning in the blogging stakes and the right need to lift their game. To this end, it may be necessary to come down hard and ban people like Rdbaiter Adolf Fiinkensein and D4j from this site to lift its credibility.
If we are not careful we are staring at another 3 years in opposition
