hin….I’m flat out trying to anticipate how govts will influence economies.
That means only parties with a chance of forming govts are of much interest…small groups of honourable individuals like the libers are a great morale booster, but they are not players…IMHO.

sunset clause sounds intriguing. so intriguing I don’t know anywhere its been instituted. Not even opposition parties have called for such a clause.

We could be MP’s in the same political party Tina. The non existent one that demands full democracy, transparency and accountability.

But tell me Tina, what are the serious flaws you see in the liberterianz and why aren’t they a valid option. or can you see them becoming a real social alternative to gaining back democracy.

The state never voluntarily gives up power, the best hope is a highly modified version.

The second quote is the more realistic.

The EFB will not be gone, only Helen.

It may be ammended, but democracy as we know it will never again be complete in this country. Simply put, there has been a bloodless coup with no rebuttal frm a half asleep population who are too scared to lose a precious status quo that doesn’t exist.

Tina Im a bit worried that JK and the Nats may not repeal the Act We have seen this behaviour before. Making promises then breaking them the Nats did this in the 90s under Jimmy B over the old age pension means testing.

redbus: my friends do in fact find it useful to know what I get up to, via my blog – esp those overseas. That is one of the reasons people have blogs.

Yes most people come for the politics but this is not solely a political blog. It is my blog on politics, technology, and anything else I find interesting – TV, films, restaurant reviews etc etc.

Hitler, Chavez, Hillary perhaps.

A majority does not allow you to shoot red headed babies or operate outside a societies traditional values unless you go to an election seeking that mandate.

The GST is a good example, no mandate but the other party loved it too.
Unlike the EFB….which is gone with Hulun.

a question, should left wing governments have
the right to govern if they have the majority
as required by most democracies?

Or are there different rules for left wing governments?
Chile in the seventies comes to mind.
