Buchanan sacking in court

The Herald reports on the first day of an Employment Relations Authority hearing into Auckland University’s sacking of Paul Buchanan.

There was a massive outpouring of support for Dr Buchanan when he was sacked over an intemperate e-mail he sent a student wanting an extension for bereavement reasons.

Obviously the full facts of the case are yet to come out, but on what is known to date, it still seemed a massive over-reaction to me.
