Several to be thanked for medals returned

It is great news that the 96 war medals have been returned.  Their value to NZ was indeed priceless.

It sounds like NZ has a lot to thank Auckland lawyer Chris Comesky for, according to this SST article.  Also to Michael, Lord Ashcroft for his $200,000 contribution to the reward, which it appears was part of getting the medals back.

Normally I hate the idea of criminals getting away with anything, let alone benefiting from a crime.  But in this case, it was more important to get the medals back.
