8 overseas trips and 50% staff turnover

The Children’s Commissioner’s Office has had a 50% staff turnover in the last year, and has failed to deliver two major reports. But Cindy Kiro did manage to attend eight overseas conferences in 12 months.
Need more be said.

Yes.
How do I get Cindy’s job?
March 6th, 2008 at 10:49 pm
I see the Children’s Commissioner has had a busy PR department in the last 12 months (reverse chronological order):
3 March 2008 – Children’s Commissioner supports cross-party caucus for children
28 February 2008 – Children’s Commissioner urges parents to plan family fun for Sunday
22 February 2008 – Children’s Commissioner says petition is misleading
19 February 2008 – Children’s Commissioner backs book on banning physical punishment
8 February 2008 – Children’s Commissioner supports early health screening
15 January 2008 – Children’s Commissioner commends community for taking action
20 December 2007 – Child rights institutes find climate change, religious fundamentalism and poverty key issues for children
6 December 2007 – Babies under one most likely to be killed, book finds
26 November 2007 – Children’s health suffers, despite economic growth
19 November 2007 – Children’s Commissioner asks New Zealanders to speak up and take responsibility for child abuse
9 November 2007 – Children’s Commissioner disappointed by reaction to guidelines on dealing with serious misbehaviour in schools
30 October 2007 – Children’s Commissioner backs charter for children and young people in care
17 October 2007 – Children’s Commissioner wants child poverty addressed
28 August 2007 – Children’s Commissioner supports 13 months paid leave for parents
21 August 2007 – Children’s Commissioner supports B4 school checks
2 August 2007 – New Zealand reaches child abuse tipping point – Children’s Commissioner
25 July 2007 – Child sexual abuse needs to stop, says Children’s Commissioner
17 June 2007 – Children’s Commissioner wants more integrated investment in children
23 May 2007 – New Zealand Children Need All Political Parties Working Together
1 May 2007 – Children’s Commissioner to address International Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly in Bali
18 April 2007 – Children’s Commissioner consulted on youth offending discussion paper
17 April 2007 Children’s Commissioner wants more effective legislation and earlier intervention for youth offending
15 March 2007 – Children’s Commissioner encourages MPs to show resolve and support bill
14 March 2007 – Children’s Commissioner encourages MPs do what is right for children
No surprise that the Children’s Commissioner takes on an advocacy role (and hopefully this media collection isn’t the sum and total of her work programme). But does a media release like “Children’s Commissioner asks New Zealanders to speak up and take responsibility for child abuse” inspire confidence in the Children’s Commissioner?

Look;
Most of the commissions and qangos are ways to employ otherwise unemployable graduates who should have been plumbers.
It will never end.
The only way to avoid contributing to parasites is to avoid tax with as much effort as you put into your business.
Remember, your marginal tax dollars will be spent on overseas conferences for the comrades.
Every dollar you avoid paying to the govt will be a dollar you can spend on your own family’s overseas holiday.

Goodness me, and WHAT will her carbon footprint look like!!

Right of way is Way of Right:
The Children’s Commissioner is one step ahead of you: 20 December 2007 – Child rights institutes find climate change, religious fundamentalism and poverty key issues for children.
A bit like Al Gore’s globe-trotting antics, and the heavily air-conditioned United Nations talkfests.
March 6th, 2008 at 11:11 pm
I can’t think of a single government Commission that shouldn’t be abolished. Not one. All eighty odd of them are absolutely pointless.
Where are the brave politicians prepared to put these people out of a job?

Kiro, you’re a disgrace. You don’t understand, you’re enamoured with baubles, you’re biased. Leave now, and refund us for the time you’ve spent.

Ms Cindy Kiro for Champion Tit Sucker of NZ. A total waste of skin.
March 6th, 2008 at 11:49 pm
…and of course, what are the results of Kiro’s “efforts”???
SFA.
Children are worse off now than when this bludging no account fat arsed Klark stooge took office.
All that traveling around. All of that politically correct garbage. All of those words. All of that money stolen from families who need it and wasted by this big gummint bozo. ..and kids are no better off. What a disgusting propaganda farce. So typical of Labour party outcomes.
Gawd I’m just so utterly sick of these Soviet style social engineers, liars, incompetents, crooks, and frauds and their bad ideas that cost us such big money and have such negative outcomes.
PS: Great post POC
March 6th, 2008 at 11:59 pm
“Where are the brave politicians prepared to put these people out of a job?”
ACT.
Don’t matter tho, because there are so many of “these people”, that all vote to preserve the status quo, that any political party that advocates the course of action you do Blair, can’t ever get enough votes. Klark’s policy is to fool as many people as possible into believing that gummint handouts are their best option. Just one more way the lying destructive and power obsessed left have perverted the democratic process.
March 7th, 2008 at 1:11 am
“Need more be said”
well yes actually. The gas chambers need not be opened just because you lot said so. “these people” are you too. Did you know Red that there are people out there that classify right wing bloogers with the level of contempt for other people you have, as “these people”
But hang on don’t you folk contradict yourselves, with Peaks summary of the work that the commissioner has done? Seems to be fighting the good fight for the kids.
And what is with all of the deliberately misspelt name calling. Is this like one of those dodgy porn chat rooms where everyone pretends to be women, only in this case you are all pretending to be over the age of 10. I teach my 4 year old boy not to call names, as it’s just plain stupid, but then shows any level of respect. The ability to show some form of respect to other humans is one of our most fundamental traits and one sadly which isn’t used enough. But go on, keep calling childish names, lets see how much respect comes from “these people” this way.
But then you have the likes of Alces advocating Tax evasion, we’d hate to think what the rest of the country thinks of that when the middle class blogosphere is advocating tax evasion, yeah that will win them over.
“Child rights institutes find climate change, religious fundamentalism and poverty key issues for children”
So if the climate is fucked the kids have a worse planet to live in than the one we did – how f***** arrogant of us.
Religious Fundamentalism is a threat to kids, any form of dogmatic enforcing ritualisation of ideas are dangerous.
And if you people don’t equate poverty to children’s issues, then you have no place in the human race.
March 7th, 2008 at 1:24 am
Kiro doesn’t represent the children. She represents herself and her own political views.
Kids aren’t left-wingers or right wingers (well maybe the Whale’s are…). But Kiro’s positions are consistently on the political left. When she lobbies to address “child poverty” she means tax and income redistribution, not job creation.
She jumped to the defense of the Hutt Valley High School principal and for the assailants’ rights to an education – no mention of the rights of the victims.
While many other QUANGOs are a waste of money too, they don’t engage in partisan politics the way this self-serving, CO2 pumping O2 thief thief does. She could take a lesson from the Parliamentary Commissioner for the Environment, or even the Families Commission, and actually do some work rather than mouthing off constantly.
March 7th, 2008 at 1:25 am
Paul:
This is a reference to my comment.
If you can’t see the contradiction between Kiro’s professed concern for climate change and her busy globetrotting schedule (hint: BIG carbon footprint), then there’s not much point in us continuing this discussion.
And don’t forget this Paul:
If you’re struggling to see my point, I don’t think you’ll get the other comments on this thread either.
March 7th, 2008 at 1:59 am
“Religious Fundamentalism is a threat to kids, any form of dogmatic enforcing ritualisation of ideas are dangerous.”
That’s why I’m against socialism. Your post of sanctimonious socialist doctrine gives a good idea of how it damages the thinking process and inhibits the imagination. Remember the smug bible bashing zealots that use to come knocking on doors with their holier than thou attitudes? They’ve been replaced by such as you Paul, and the new religion is socialism, (followed closely by environmentalism), and after experiencing so many lectures and sermons from smug sanctimonious self righteous leftists with their insane destructive religion, it reminds me of how little bother the bible bashers really were. How mild and inoffensive they were compared to you dangerous anti-human anti-freedom arseholes.
There’s a saying I cannot quite recall, but its about being tormented by the sanctimonious, and how difficult it is to dissuade them from such torment, and how it will be endless, for the tormentors believe they are doing good. (Maybe someone else knows of it) Describes you smug preaching socialist bastards to a tee.
I used to be polite and kind to the bible bashers, because essentially, they were decent self reliant independent moral people. You bludging thieving amoral socialists are something else altogether. To you I say-
Please, please please, just FUCK OFF and LEAVE ME ALONE.
March 7th, 2008 at 2:02 am
Big carbon footprints granted, just because we don’t like her, doesn’t make her role any less important, or indeed the work she is doing.
JohnMacc, life is always going to involve a victim isn’t it. Poverty is a result of inequitable economic conditions, and while Key is wanting to keep wages down I fail to see how the right is going to push full steam ahead in soothing child poverty.
March 7th, 2008 at 2:25 am
Red your contempt for humanity is in full swing tonight, a little sleep might alleviate that.
It’s a shame that the diatribe that you spew so fervently is indeed a comment on you and your beliefs. I could very well use that same infantile speech on you, swapping the socialist for rabid right winger. But that would be getting us nowhere. Arrogant sanctimonious right wing git could be a term to describe your fears and beliefs.
Somehow in your holier than thou existence, you are somehow superior to me? Your views are of greater importance than mine, your beliefs and fears allow you to pour scorn on those whom you disagree.
the problem you have is that your pathetically small understanding (or lack there of) how other people live and think, has created this great vacuous belief that you are simply greater than those you don’t agree with.
How is Socialism any more dogmatic than that of the ideologies of the right? I would assume that some sort of torrent of abuse will fill the void that should be a reply to that question, mind you it’s a little more refreshing to be subjected to this infantile attack than the homophobic abuse that festers in D4J posts.
How is environmentalism any more dogmatic than that of the belief of the right? The problem with your statement is that somehow you wish to believe that there is a pseudo-religious come dogmatic approach to the environment from the left, when in actual fact, I am only following the science. If my wish for the planet is to see it in a better condition when I leave than when I entered this world, then how can that be a bad thing? I really look forward to your justification of what must simply be anti-environmentalist.
But once again, it’s the squirming and abuse that is the saddest part of that response. The only sanctimonious comments here tonight were from you. There was no intention in attempting to engage in dialogue (that would involve thinking).
BTW, Socialism is a badge that one can wear with pride, and the torrent of abuse from the likes of your infantile keyboard only reinforces the belief of us on the left that the right just hates people.
BTW, as distain for the left clouds any ability to construct criticism without abuse, I would have loved to know where in my previous post was I imposing my ideas upon the kind folk here. I was pointing out somethings I see as dangerous in the world, but these could hardly be interpreted as knocking on number 48’s door and waving a geography text book at them claiming they are all going to hell if they don’t put out their coal fire, unlike those indoctrinated sods who come to my house telling me that there is a better way if only I would join ACT.

Paul:
Mmmm… yes. Stating the obvious. Expressing heartfelt angst. Eating. Travelling. Go Cindy! Think of the children, you heartless fascists! Why, there’s even more achieved by Cindy that POC has callously omitted from his list:
Children’s Commissioner finds most children like spaghetti-o’s
Children’s Commissioner commends Playschool hosts, offers consultancy to Mr Ted
Children’s Commissioner doesn’t much like the idea of kids going hungry; heads to plush resort to discuss it, but refuses to order dessert in solidarity.
Child sexual abuse needs to stop, says Children’s Commissioner. “It’s like, um… really bad, you know? And yeah… just cut it out, okay?”
New Zealand Children Need All Political Parties Working Together (to maintain the Office of the Children’s Commissioner)
Children’s Commissioner to address International Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly in Bali. Finds Indonesian kids hungrier than those in NZ, throws them a lobster shell.
Children’s Commissioner encourages MPs do what is right for children (increasing the travel budget of the Office of the Children’s Commissioner)
Children’s Commissioner wants more integrated investment in children (it’s not just the travel budget, there’s entertaining, and the wardrobe allowance…)
Children’s Commissioner supports B4 school checks. And bike helmets. And car seats… yes they’re good too. And hugs. Hugs are good…
Children’s Commissioner consulted on youth offending discussion paper. Recommends a blue cover, or perhaps mauve. As long as it matches the bookshelf.
Children’s Commissioner supports 13 months paid leave for parents, 36 months for Commissioners.
I could go on, but there’s some orphans knocking at my door. I need to get a list of their needs before sending them off with a copy of this book on “banning physical punishment”. Boiled with tomato sauce it should keep them going for weeks.
March 7th, 2008 at 2:30 am
Nevermind the carbon. The more carbon we can pump into the atmosphere the faster the plants grow. There’s plenty more coal, oil & gas where the last lot came from.
What we should be worried about is that all these “Commissions” are just puppet mouthpieces for the far left social agenda, and they can spend as much taxpayers money as they like on publicity, all outside of the EFA.
March 7th, 2008 at 2:43 am
Rex:
Thanks for a “Rex-tacular” comment – that was, seriously, the funniest thing I’ve read all day!
March 7th, 2008 at 3:01 am
Paul:
I can’t decide if you’re suffering from tunnel vision syndrome or spinning faster than a Black Widow – or perhaps even a combination of the two.
Since you’re so optimistic about the work Kiro’s doing Paul, here’s a challenge for you: give me a list of 3 tangible and indisputable achievements for New Zealand children that have occurred under her watch. Just 3 things (say: alleviating child poverty or reducing child abuse – but not those as the statistics reportedly aren’t looking too good).
Take your time.
March 7th, 2008 at 3:26 am
A little OT, but care to explain that? Are you suggesting that poverty has nothing to do with the individual?
Thinking of an example close to me, my school cohorts from a very small town in the 1970’s. We were all the same age and living in the same economic conditions with the same teachers – yet we are all miles apart now.
March 7th, 2008 at 6:11 am
Further to Jim’s point… isn’t poverty about not having enough? It’s the common (and highly socialist) definition that considers it to be about having relatively less. Under the current definition, everyone in New Zealand could be earning 10x more than now and we’d still have the same level of “poverty”.
March 7th, 2008 at 6:21 am
Based on a Google Image search she seems a ‘perfect role model’ for childhood obesity.
March 7th, 2008 at 6:37 am
Paul said “Socialism is a badge that one can wear with pride..”
Since when? That abominable system has failed everywhere and condemned people to more misery than any other system (with the exception of its bigger brother, communism).
The sooner you realise capitalism has won the battle, the better.
However, I’m not counting on Paul changing his socialist view of the world from the comfort of his ivory tower.
March 7th, 2008 at 6:46 am
Paul said:
“Is this like one of those dodgy porn chat rooms where everyone pretends to be women”
I’d have to take your word for it Paul.
March 7th, 2008 at 6:52 am
She spends all day cruising the net looking for conferences to attend and then books her first class airfare with gusto when she finds a conference and no doubt stays in the most expensive hotels. These leftie types sure know how to spend taxpayers’ money on themselves. The once leftie Auckland City Council revealed the greedy hand of the left with their antics. She is a pointless pointless person, just what is this role about.
March 7th, 2008 at 6:59 am
It with great sadness that I write about the despicable children’s commissioner, who has shown that she, is not only selfish but also dangerously incompetent. This woman has tried to have me arrested by police after I sent her emails pleading for her assistance in my case. I am thankful to police that they understood my frustration and evil motives outlined by Kiro thingy. Bad luck Cindy witch !!
The real world doesn’t operate on punishment. It operates on consequences and sadly our children are being abused in such numbers we appear at the top of child abuse statistics. The fact that 33% of the nation’s 800,000 children now live in benefit led homes does indicate a government that is content on ignoring the terrible plight faced by our vulnerable children, who are suffering at an alarming rate. The welfare of our most precious assets should be a priority from any moral and upright government.
The children’s commissioner, the families’ commission and the government are absolute filth and it is a sad indictment that they all display a wilful disregard to our children. We seem content to accept a government that does not adhere to the paramount principle of protecting the dignity and rights of our kiwi children. Does anybody care about our children ?
Proud to be a kiwi – yeah right – are you insane?
March 7th, 2008 at 7:28 am
Cindi Kiro is a maori and again we see that good old trait – when a maori gets into a position of power they dont just over do things a bit – they go crazy like there was no tomorrow its spend, spend, spend.
What an embarrassment.
[DPF: 10 demerits for racist generalisations. I have not noticed the Maori Head of the Armed Forces going power crazy, to use just one example]
March 7th, 2008 at 8:21 am
Cindy Kiro. As talented as she is beautiful.
March 7th, 2008 at 10:11 am
Cindy Kiro performs an important function which is key and her position must be maintained.
She sucks up taxpayers money and will make it hard for the new National government to operate thus giving oposition leader Phil Goff shit to bitch about… althrough he will be basing his attckes on everything being the fault of the previous National govenment from last century.
For the same reason Doc Sullen will deliver tax cuts after having blown the surplus (should have gotten a benefit fraudster to manage the investments) and now they’re off shopping for new SOE’s that will run at a loss.
Hospital pass of the millenium.
Kiro is a small but vital gog in this machine of pissing away money.
March 7th, 2008 at 10:13 am
Pardon me if I’m speaking out of turn over this. Has anyone on this thread raised the issue of whether our “children’s commissioner” has released any comment on the Plods recent decision “not to prosecute” a twenty-something-year-old screwer of an early teen, and why not?
March 7th, 2008 at 10:34 am
I am not about to increase KBB’s traffic so will quote rather than link.
On a recent post about the right’s attitude to the Childrens’ Commissioner this gem caught my eye:
” On one hand they believe the Commission is a mouthpiece for socialism and the Labour party. On the other hand, they think it’s a waste of time because it’s done nothing. Two contradictory concepts.”
Contradictory how?
As if the two were mutually exclusive. I have no difficulty in agreeing with both
What a sad unit they are!!
March 7th, 2008 at 11:02 am
- “How is Socialism any more dogmatic than that of the ideologies of the right?”
- “allow you to pour scorn on those whom you disagree.”
- “How is environmentalism any more dogmatic than that of the belief of the right?”
- “how can that be a bad thing?”
- “only reinforces the belief of us on the left that the right just hates people.”
- “where in my previous post was I imposing my ideas upon the kind folk here”
A litany of questions and accusations and allegations of which I have sampled just a few above. Now- I try not to be to contemptuous of the intelligence quotas of those who preach socialism, but Jezuz H Christ on a bike, I am not possessed of the patience of Job. I have answered these questions so many times before. I have pointed out the salient differences between socialists and other politicians so many times.
Its incredible, but lamers like Paul and so many others just cannot seem to get it, and unless its willful blindness (highly possible as this is an essential psychological weakness in convincing yourself that socialism has any beneficial outcomes) I’m left with the only other possible explanation and that is that they are as thick as two short planks.
Let me try once again to point out the salient difference between left and right. Between socialism and freedom. Let me try and tell you why I’m “superior” (to use your concept) to you Paul. Not only in intelligence, but also in morality and rationality and so many other things.
You Paul, proud as you are to wear the badge of socialism, have no other political objective other than imposing your views and a way of life you believe in on people. Now hang on- before you start spluttering, I haven’t got to the main point yet. The big difference. The key to your lack of understanding on this issue.
Not content to persuade people to follow your cause voluntarily (as the bible bashing door knockers were attempting,) and knowing that you cannot sell your religion by means of rational argument, you take another road. You use government to force it down people’s throat. Here’s one most relevant example. Whilst churches allow voluntary tithes, you use the tax department to extract donations by force, and if I don’t subscribe to your silly little socialist Utopian ideals, and I resist paying your tithes, you’ll jail me.
The essential component of socialism is (by the very nature of that word, socialism) is the conversion of society to socialist ideals. You don’t want to convert us to Christianity. You want to convert us to leftism. That’s what socialism is all about. ..and you’ll use government and a plethora of in your face regulations to do that. You’ll pervert our education system to do that. Your disciples will infiltrate our government services to do that. You’ll destroy our democratic system to do that. Your preachers will use television and radio and newspapers to convince us, to the exclusion of all other views, that socialism is the way the truth and the light.
Here’s what I want Paul. I want to be left alone. But there’s another key element to the difference between myself and yourself. I wish to leave you alone. I don’t want a big all powerful totalitarian one party state. I want small unobtrusive government. You want commissions and quangos, and you want to stack them with your preachers and deliver us your sermons, and force us to believe and comply. I want to disband every one of those commissions. I want to sack almost every politician. I want you to live your life Paul. Free of any interference from politicians. I don’t want your taxes Paul. I just want you to leave me alone, and in return, I pledge to leave you alone.
I want government to run the defence forces, and keep records of births deaths and marriages, and land ownership and transfers, and protect my property rights and my rights to go about my business unimpeded by criminals, and a few other little essentials, and that is that. How many politicians do we need to do that? Ten? Twenty? Maybe even thirty. But 120??? For fucks sake.
That’s you Paul. 120 politicians and forcing your damn religion down everyone’s neck, and here’s me Paul, twenty or thirty politicians, and leaving you and every other citizen alone. Just getting on with living my life, doing the best I can for my family and leaving you to do the same. Not pushing any religious message. Not promoting any failed ideology dreamed up by some clapped out psychologically damaged German academic almost a century ago. Not stealing your money and giving it to losers so they’ll empower me politically. Not gradually taking away people’s choices and incrementally regulating every facet of their lives.
I’ll say again what I said in the last line of my post above. Just fuck off and leave me alone. You won’t though. Like rust, you keep creeping back, and you’ll never leave me alone. That’s the difference you see Paul. I’m in my house with my door shut, and you’re not knocking on it like the bible bashers used to do. Worse. You’ve invaded it by legislation, and will even take it off me if I don’t swear to your religion. I’m the peace loving individual just trying to get on with my life. You’re the big government believing invader. I’m resisting. You’re imposing. I’m inside wanting peace and quiet. You’re besieging me with the clamour of your sermons and your evangelism and your regulation and your army of politicians and commissioners and bureaucrats and enforcement officers.
So that’s it. You don’t understand it now, then too bad. I tried. You don’t get it still, you stand once again as testament to how brain damage is one of the most common outcomes of exposure to leftist ideology.
March 7th, 2008 at 11:07 am
“What a sad unit they are!!’
Actually, that site just emanates such a striking degree of smug sanctimony its hard to imagine that a mere web page could achieve such an impression. ..and of course, you’re perfectly correct. The wittering self righteous dumbfucks overlook the obvious rationale that the fat arsed Klark stooge has been busy as hell, but in line with most of the outcomes of Labour, has achieved SFA.
They’re just children at KBB, that’s their problem. Who else would believe so fervently in an ideology so obviously flawed??
March 7th, 2008 at 12:39 pm
Some of us remember a time before we had Commissioners of This and Commissioners of That
Those us who were kids in the 1950s and 1960s didnt need a Commissioner to tell our parents how to raise us .We didnt need a Human Rights Comissioner We didnt need a Race Relations Commissioner etc
It was a much better time socially than it is now by a long way And only those of use who lived thru it can comment and compare.
We didnt have stcky beak interefering oxygen wasters like Kiro de Bries Prasad All or them wasting tens of millions for no result
tell me What actual KPI have they acheievd Do they have KPIs Bet not The usual excuse is that you cant measure and we all know that if you cant measure it you cant manage it .
Which is exactly what these people want So they be totally unaccountable and wreck and destroy our society at will.
Thats their real agenda aided and abetted by the bastard Socialists and their supporters.

One confused comrade, is Paul.
“the likes of Alces advocating Tax evasion, we’d hate to think what the rest of the country thinks of that when the middle class blogosphere is advocating tax evasion, yeah that will win them over.”
He thinks I want to win someone over.
No Paul, I want them to fornicate and travel.
March 7th, 2008 at 2:02 pm
“He thinks I want to win someone over.”
He does think that, but its about all you can glean from such an incoherent sentence. I’m only guessing but I think he’s also saying that he speaks for all of NZ when he says not paying all the tax you should is a bad thing. Paul. There’s nothing stopping you from paying more tax if you want. In fact you could even shortcut the system. Go down to the bank, clean out your account, put the cash in a sack and take it over to PhilU and hand it to him. He’ll be ever so grateful for your caring sharing approach to his cash flow problems.
March 7th, 2008 at 2:18 pm
Wow! When did you make this change?
March 7th, 2008 at 2:20 pm
Oh. I see, you were joking!
March 7th, 2008 at 2:25 pm
Our child abuse statistics are NO joke eh llew, but what would anybody care. The children’s commissioner couldn’t give a stuff about them. How you immoral leftist creeps sleep at night is beyond me. What a sick, sad country run by selfish criminals !!
March 7th, 2008 at 2:27 pm
Hey dad – you’re the joke.

That man deserves a DB. Well said RB. Got my +. Seems to have shut the sad little comrade up for a while.
March 7th, 2008 at 2:28 pm
Only 2 ways a voter can attack govt.
Vote them out and/or reduce to a minimum the money they are able to legally extort from you for the likes of Kiro to spend.
In the end the state claims Kiro and her species are better judges of how to spend your money than you.
I disagree.
March 7th, 2008 at 2:31 pm
good one llew what else would I expect from you.
March 7th, 2008 at 2:33 pm
More than I expect from you actually. What did you call me? Is that libel?
March 7th, 2008 at 2:37 pm
llew – are you happy with our child abuse statistics and a commissioner for children who does nothing to address the problem because she is too busy gallivanting around the world sipping socialist champagne at meaningless conferences ?
March 7th, 2008 at 2:39 pm
Of course not Dad – what makes you think I am? Overactive imagination?

llew ; Why on earth did you just post a comment on my blog about grammar and punctuation? Why does that concern you ? Anyway back to topic . What are the lefties currently in power doing about the insidious problem of child abuse? Answer; Nothing. Is it because it’s a culturally sensitive issue or is it because it’s just filed in the too bloody hard basket?

Just to return the irritation you caused me. But I left you another good comeback for your amusement (not MY comeback).
Other than apparently facilitating a change of government, I wouldn’t know.

llew, sorry I did not mean to offend you. But surely it is time for a government to address the problem of child abuse. The Germans have a system that could easily be implemented here, as children are valued over there and the callous actions of yet another failure commission here, surely indicates that it’s time for radical change. I have 4 children and there is no way I am I allowing my grand children to grow up in a country that is run by egotistical selfish perverts . Children deserve better and Cindy Kiro is a disgrace too the dignity of every New Zealander.

Well said Redbaiter, POC, Rex I wish I could say it like you guys. They say the truth hurts it would appear there are a few hurting. But of course their truth is the only truth as far as they are concerned, not one of these posters on the left can stand up and claim that the last 9 years have been NZ’s finests moments. And if I’m wrong and mistaken and New Zealand is God’s gift to humantiy and justice then all hope is lost.

Redbaiter, your comment to Paul explaining the differences between evangelical socialism and freedom was the best thing I’ve read at Kiwiblog – ever.

Thanks for that kind comment Grant. I likewise admire your own contributions and your courage and the fact that you are not intimidated by the left’s current cultural ascendancy.
Y’know when I first started writing on the net, (1999-2000) I found the degree of restraint in political discussion in NZ absolutely shocking. I was even severely criticised by all and sundry for daring to use the relatively mild term “leftist”. At that time, the left had the country’s culture so firmly in their grasp, there was practically no discussion of concepts outside of the leftist/ socialist political paradigm.
Think how things have changed since then. We must continue to speak out. It was ideas and freedom of expression that brought down the Berlin wall, and it will be the same strategy that will penetrate the political fortress of the progressives, and restore NZ’s traditional culture. Eventually we will succeed.

i rememer Red when I was a kid how the adults laughed at this new fangled PC language.
Little did they know that it was the ground work of everything that has eventuated this century.
Claiming our language back is where we need to start as well.

Thanks for your kind comment Tauhei. I just say it the way I see it.
Bwakile, that is so right. Its all about language. As Dover Samuels says, the Progressives have turned the word “offensive” into a political weapon. A means to suppress dissent. I say offend them. Offend them with all your worth. Offend them with your language, offend them with your ideas. Hunt the Progressives from the corridors of power and return this country to its traditional culture.
