Dead Joey

Well the Shortland Street serial killer plotline is now dead with Joey.
Stuff reviews the end of the plotline.
I have to say that overall the producers did a pretty good job with it. Viewer numbers went up, people started to talk about it more, and they didn’t ham it up too much. I’m only an occassional viewer via My Sky but in the last few weeks have been watching regularly to see how it gets resolved.

“The acting on Shortland Street can be painful to watch, but the scenes with Alice and Joey were pretty intense.”
Now that’s an understatement from Stuff.

He’s dead, bugger. I wanted him to keep going until he’d wiped out the ENTIRE cast!

Serial killers on TV and Kiwi AGWs.
An unbroken logic line.

Shortland St like Coronation St, Eastenders, Home & Away, etc
are shows i avoid like the plague but bad acting or not, shortland street has been responsible for acting breaks for a number of New Zealanders so bad acting or not, a show worth having.

Shortland street is awful, full stop. It makes you dumber when you watch it. That said, I’ve never been happier to see a broken Joey.

Helmet, you’re on form of late. And at midnight!
Who killed the cast of Shortland Street?
The script writers.

I’ll admit, I traded in my half an hour of peace and quiet away from the missus turned into both of us sitting down and watching eyes glued top the TV.

I like to think Shortland Street is something that is used by the actor’s guild for disciplinary purposes.
“Mr ____, you have been found guilty of grievous crimes against Taste, and of bringing the industry into disrepute. You are hereby sentenced to appear in 25 episodes of Shortland Street, and ordered to pay court costs. Take that man down!”
